Revelation

Revelation, n. Discovering late in life that you are a fool.
2. A famous book in which Saint John the Divine concealed all that he knew. The revealing is done by the commentators, who know nothing.

2006 Update: The step between action and perjury.

A note to all American subscribers to basic cable reading this, Schwartz' Candies marshmallows will be featured tonight on Unwrapped on The Food Network at 9PM, most places. This is your long awaited opportunity to see Semisweet1 unwrapped.

Hey I found another one by Bierce online:

Experience is a revelation in the light of which we renounce our errors of youth for those of age.

Have a revelation in the space between sleeping and waking each morning, but then I forget

Sar, thanks for revealing,

That's a great quote, Monika.

Pia, isn't it funny how all the world's problems evaporate at twilight and fossilize during daylight?

Cool! I'll be sure to check out Semi's feature. Er...that doesn't sound good especially since you said it's our chance to see him unwrapped. Yikes!

Semi1 Unwrapped: Oh, good, I was afraid that I might have missed it. I saw another chocolatier on the Food Network and was going to email you to ask.

Revelation, n seeing the world for what it really is. Then diving back into bed to hide.

6:00 PM here, I will be watching.
Good Monday to you all!
I love Monika's quote and Icy's definition, wow.
I sit amazed.

I will set the DVR for Unwrapped tonight!!!

Ambrose's definitions were superb today.
Yours wasn't half bad.

Since my mind is now fully engaged & focused on the subject of Schwartz's Candies, I have no revelation on the word revelation.

revelation: brain fart.

Sadly according to Food Network Canada no Schwartz' for us. Denied, denied, denied.

Revelation (n) hotel bill discovery where date printed coincides with evening "honey" worked late at the office

Semisweet unwrapped? That WILL be a revelation. I will try not to miss it.

Icy, good dog!!!

Sar, you think Yikes! Imagine my situation.

Dddragon, great definition.

Just in the nick of time, huh, Rio?

Logo, my local listings say 9PM so that's probably right for Seattle, too.

Excellent Jamie Dawn, thanks. I'm sure finding out how S works his magic will be revelation enough.

Jenna, I hope that changes under your new government.

Ouch, Still Life. That would be one. I wonder if there's a correlation between people who cheat and those compulsive enough to take the hotel receipt. I bet there's co-morbidity.

Oh, good, Weirsdo. Please do.

mireille said...

co-morbidity. heh. have nothing on revelation today ... except it would be revelatory if I could stay out of the bathroom for a three hour segment of time. *oversharing* xoxo

My DVR is set, too. It's 9 pm here in Comcast East Land.

revelation - The thing that some people never have vis a vis being an asshat.

Wait! I feel a revelation coming on!

Revelation: What you might find out if someone leaves their Webcam turned on by mistake.

That what changes, Doug? More brain farts or get the tv programming under control so that what's on there is on here?

Neither will ever happen. I may spend a lot of time in my head but even I know when certain things are impossible.

Doug The Una said...

Mireille, a collective awww feel better.

Thanks, Dddragon. That's awesome big sister.

Poobah, is that what that was? I wondered.

Indie, how many times have I written a story for that?

The TV, Jenna. I'm expecting the "Greater U.S. announcement any day."

I’m quite certain that people don’t have revelations on Mondays…especially while watching basic cable (of course I'm now dissapointed that I'm not a subscriber)

Doug The Una said...

Thanks, Actonbell. It is a good one isn't it. Speaking of which, both your nieces have good posts up.

Alas, endeavor to have someone tape it for you.

Karma, I'll see that your demands find their target. I was told this episode would play a few more times this week. It's titled "Chocolate creations."

Revelation was love for me.

I forgot what I wrote anyway.

I'm always late to your post... Revelation must get here sooner... ;)

Revelation, n. Ambrose Bierce, thanks to Doug. :-)

What do you suppose Bierce mean about the Book of Revelations, Doug? Was Bierce into some esoteric Christian school? I'm curious.

Miz BoheMia said...

I am late to the party!

Revelation... a tardy bohemian is better than none at all...

Revelation... more like a confession 'cause I was here before but nothing, no revelations presented themselves to this bohemian! None!

Revelation... what frazzled bohemians lack these days! *sigh*

Doug The Una said...

Fred, Aw. Solitude for me.

Brilliant, a4g.

Sorry about that Alice. If you like, we can use your icon as your definition.

Shayna, how about the news that someone blogs at midnight.

Aral, it's an interesting question. He was pretty clearly an atheist but I'd say that while he was skeptical about God he reserves his cynicism for Religion which is generally caricatured as hypocritical and insupportable chauvinism. A believer is rarely offended, an acolyte constantly. As it should be.

Miz B, you're probably just low on tofu. This too shall pass.

Indeterminacy said...

Revelation: I will reveal my definition at a later date.

dddragon said...

Wow, I can't believe that I get here this late and there isn't a new definition or post! lol.

dddragon said...

Okay, this is wierd. "Revelation" disappeared, Guest Wednesday has appeared, but these comments are for "Revelation".

Wow. Blogger REALLY has gone bonkers!

Ooooorrr ... maybe I should look before I click.
