Redefining misanthropy for a fresh generation. Standard posts begin with a definition from Ambrose Bierce's The Devil's Dictionary followed by a modern adjustment. Miscellany on Wednesday and storytelling on Saturday.
Oh yes! The dress!! I'm wondering what rare materials they will have to have for The Dress of All Dresses?? For us women, it's ALL about the clothes... then the food and the flowers. Oh, and the man too.
What are you going to do about the dress??? Something tells me that you know nothing, nothingNOTHING, about wedding dresses. Or any other kind of dress for that matter. The dress will be very interesting.
Cooper, I bow to you. Johnny Depp makes a pretty effeminate pirate. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
The funny thing, Sis, is I would be shy about putting a topless woman in my story. I guess we can just hope Actonbell enjoyed the view. When was I in the fashion industry? I have worked in floristry.
Nope, Doug it is the one with Heidi Klum. You should get your Germans straight.
I have to agree with everybody here, this is a terrific episode and makes my top three list...yet I can't help, as TLP, to wonder how you will know anything about lace, patterns and those silly shoulder pads in wedding dresses.
maybe Jennifer Lopez's e-mail might be of help in research for this particular topic?
Oh, and yes... you can cheer for any team you want. Now that the Chargers did the dirty work of eliminating the Colts, though, it's futile. Pats will be 19-0.

There is so much wonderfulness in this episode that I don't know where to start!
But I could start by saying that I would have been first, darnitall, if Minka had read the d*mn story before smiling.
;P
Cows. Can't live with them, can't live without them. xoxo
I loved this story. The scene with the sailors earnestly wrecking the ship while trying to repair it would make a great Monty Python skit.
Well, howdy, Minka.
TLP, that was fun. You're right to stick your tongue out.
Ain't that the truth. Mireille?
Thanks, Quilly.

Lots od fun. Made me think of the Keystone Cops.

JD, tell the truth. A woman'd marry a billy goat if there were truffles in his beard and his mother was angora.
Nessa, I should have had the Benny Hill theme in the background, huh?
Thanks, Actonbell.
We'll see, TLP.
“a good emperor sheds blood when his servants make war and likewise takes splinters when they build"
Wouldn't it be nice if that were so, lot's less wars I bet.
I totally see Johnny Depp in this somewhere.
Take a bow. I know it's not the end but take one anyway.
I think that Doug and I have less appreciation for shirtless men than actonbell. Now, a shirtless woman would NOT disappoint.
And TLP, don't forget that Doug used to be in the fashion industry...
Great episode! 4 stars! Kiss My @$$ Bunny!
Doug's been in every industry AP3. But I've never seen him in a dress that I thought was suitable for a wedding. The boy does try of course.
Under the weight of not much cargo and two mythical characters, the last dry platform on the ship crashed into the wood-lined swamp below.
that was one of my favorite lines in this week's offering. and this week's is one of my favorite offerings of the entire series.
knowing you're a Big Fan, i'm guessing you'll be taking your cue for next week's chapter from Project Runway. ; )

Haha, Neva. Is that the one with Tyra Banks?

Doug, your blogger profile used to say that you were in the fashion industry! Remember?
Oh, and yes... you can cheer for any team you want. Now that the Chargers did the dirty work of eliminating the Colts, though, it's futile. Pats will be 19-0.
Check out the Playground. A movie version of your story. Don't tell everyone.
That tongue left me speechless. I am so sorry I missed the Malagar scarabs though. Were they any good?
Minka, they all look the same. I think I don't need Jennifer Lopez' email but thank you anyway.
Right, AP3! I did forget. I suspect you're right about the season's outcome but I'm counting on Brer Bret. Besides, Tom Brady is so gay!
Icy, it'll stay between us.
Terry, we mainly eat birds.
Actonbell, I have no idea. Thomas Pynchon is famous for his painstaking research. I am not.
