The Gorgon was a maiden bold
Who turned to stone the Greeks of old
That looked upon her awful brow.
We dig them out of ruins now,
And swear that workmanship so bad
Proves all the ancient sculptors mad.

Are we soon out of the "g's"?
Gorgon: sisterhood is a beautiful thing.
I'm loving these G's. I keep looking for one that will hit my *spot.
Oh well, let gorgons be bygones.
Happy Valentine!
..
Men have hearts?!?
(I figured I'd better get that in before somebody else did, particularly someone of the opposing persuasion.)
Just all kinds of famous birthdays this week. Lincoln, Darwin, and now Rudolph Valentino ...
Wha ...?!?
When you read a Stephen King novel there will be things you never forget. "The soil of a man's heart is stonier. A man grows what he can... and he tends it" is one of them.
Maybe she was homely with a heart of gold and Apollo handsome with a heart of poopy.
gorgon... an especially repulsive woman. hmmmm, and this gentle definition right after I read a blog post about ann coulter and the trees in the forest on the very day before Valentine's Day, eh?
OC greeted my "Good-morning, I love you," and sleepy stumble from the bedroom this morning with laughter and the query, "Did you read Doug's definition this morning?" I said I hadn't and dutifully shuffled to the computer to see .....now I'm sitting here trying to figure out if he's telling me he doesn't really love me, or he just wants me to go comb my hair ....
Gorgon: Ugly and bold and apparently very powerful. Those Greek men should have known better. They should've gazed upon Gorgon's chest, and they would have avoided their stony fates.
Is the Gorgon why sheep are so popular in Greece?
Ah, man, now someone is going to sue me.
Ariel - great quote!
They weren't looking at her brow...(although it makes a lovely rhyme)
It was her stare
That froze them there
Whilst snakes a wiggled
Of her hair
I'd call it the ultimate bad hair day.
Ummm - Gorgon(zola) goes well with merlot.
believe there is a current religious
sect that has its roots in the wonders of snakes...not a large sect,as the bite is often fatal.
enjoy your evening,Peace
"Getting my gorgon on" is my new favorite saying.

Can you tell, TLP?
Jim, I don't think you have one of those, but I don't know everything.
Amoeba, only when we are told to.
That was a great line. Does hemp grow in stony soil?
Maybe, Icy. But I keep thinking Perseus used a mirror to kill Medusa. I wonder which way it was turned.
Bad start, Sauerkraut.
Quilly, all that a man says can be taken one of three ways. I'm betting on "I'm sleepy."
Hahahahahaha, JD! I think you've figured out why only the Greeks ever had any trouble with gorgons.
That's ok, Nessa. I'm fine with racism as long it's spread evenly among everyone.
I like the rhyme, T.
Darwin worshippers, I reckon, Bear.
Cooper, you can make that work.
Bad manners are good instinct, Karma.
