Congregation
Congregation, n. The subjects of an experiment in hypnotism.

A gathering of select (only the most elite in other words people who comment here) individuals often of likemind or at least with pieces of like mind who come together for a specific non purpose, often times to worship.( Doug)
As for you comment on Dogs Daze, there is a big dif between wearing a glove and cutting you hand off. As for your def connecting congregation and sin, you must be talking about a platonic orgy again!
Congregation: a group gathering for a common purpose. Not to be confused with similarly named Congress, who've long since abandoned their desire and ability to do so.

Doug: With UUism, your soul, if you chose to have a soul, can go anywhere it damn well pleases. Up on the roof is fine, but then, so is under the broadwalk. There are many paths that can be taken. Or not. Just have coffee. Wherever.
That word makes me think of only one thing: Church. The congregation congregates, dressed in nicer clothes than they would wear to Pizza Hut. They sing, pray, get preached at, give money, sing, pray and then uncongregate. They go home and change into their Pizza Hut clothes.

Dddragon, that made me laugh. I hadn't seen that quote, although I've heard similar comments. I once attended a mega-church in Denver and I could feel the horns and smell the brimstone.
Little Bar of Soap, I actually agree that a gathering for worship is one of the best things there is. I was talking about congregations.

Congregation: A gathering of folks in order to be preached at about a particular belief system.
