ReplyDeleteI was one of the first visitor's to Mt. St. Helen's after it was reopened to the public. I climbed to the top of a ridge. On my right was dense, old growth forest. On my left was barren land where charcoal tree bones thrust from devouring piles of ashes. That purple mountain truly was majestic in it's fury.

Quill, that must have been stunning. There's a memory my sister and I enjoy repeating on her husband. When he was her boyfriend, the family met in Yosemite. Jenna, Jim and I went for a drive and Jim, looking out his window said "Man, erosion makes bitchin' s**t." The same can be said of volcanism.
