Self-Evident
SELF-EVIDENT, adj. Evident to one's self and to nobody else.
SELF-EVIDENT, adj. Presented by oneself, on behalf of oneself. Which is typically disparaged in a court of law. As is everything else except the, em, fee paid to the judge.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
Which obviously means I get to have my own way -- so the definition of self-evident is whatever serves me best.
