Day

DAY, n. A period of twenty-four hours, mostly misspent. This period is divided into two parts, the day proper and the night, or day improper — the former devoted to sins of business, the latter consecrated to the other sort. These two kinds of social activity overlap.

2010 Update: A unit of explanation equal to 96 Ennuis.

I heard this quote in some silly movie: "There are lifes in which there are days and nights. And then there are lifes in which there are only days that grow dark." Just liked it.

  15. I suppose I must reluctantly agree with Ambrose (at the twenty-four hours, mostly misspent) Isn't it glorious that we are given a new day every day?
