Leisure

Leisure, n. Lucid intervals in a disordered life.

2005 Update: That insubstantial substance which coffee-house philosophers lament the loss of.

In your leisure time, drop by Elbot's blog where (s)he(it) has started posting conversations that you all had with him yesterday.

Leisure, adj.
A type of tacky suit worn in the late 60's, early 70's, which no one laments the loss of.

some find it with pleasure, some find it with food, some others find it on top of mountains, and there are those others who wont know it even if it hits them on the head.

Leisure: Sorry. I don't have any time to define this one.

Leisure, n.

That portion of life devoted to non-compensated work.

How do I spend my leisure time,
for which I get no pay?
Accomplishing those horrid tasks
put off from working days.

Gosh, that'll teach a guy to go to meetings...

TLP, I always thought leisure suit was sweatpants and a big t-shirt like what I wear to the office.

Sreekesh, the one's who don't recognize it are the ones who have it.

Icy, I love that phrase. It's amazing what dogs come up with in their leisure time.

Sar, I'll look for your invoice.

Alice, Enjoy it. The daytime when you have a nightjob might work too.

Pia, that's sharp. You're right although I ruminate over lost free time other places than a coffee-shop. Like at work (!)

Indie, you would if I'd put a picture with it.

dddragon, how about if I call your work and play music through the phone for an hour?

I'm not taking any chances, Weirsdo.

John, that's a great definition and I like the lyric. It's nice to have a specialist around.

Gabriel, that could also be a definition for reincarnation.

Phew. Here's another: What Americans trade for the resources to buy boats, playstations, tennis rackets, DSL, movies, music, books and college.

Eh hem, "meetings" when the word of the day is Leisure...coincidence? I think not! :)

Actonbell, I like DH's sense of humor. Hope his voice is better than mine, though. My ex would have asked me "Do you mind turning up the vacuum?"

Sar, those kids got to bed early tonight.

If there are currently no demands on you, and you have time to let out a relaxing sigh, then you are experiencing leisure time.
If you are frazzled, and your breathing is short, fast and shallow, then you may be heading towards a heart attack and some leisure time in is order.

What ever happened to leisure? I'm pretty sure I don't have enough money for it.

i'll have mine black, no sugar please

Jamie Dawn, if there are demands on me and I should be frazzled but I'm blithely blogging. Is that leisure?

Um, Aral, are you writing this from goalie camp?

Karma, I'm glad you like it without sugar.

Jamie Dawn said...

It sure is, as long as you let out a relaxing sigh...
