  1. i just KNEW this would be the word for today, yet I did not prepare for it.

Fashion: a seventh sense that either blesses or encumbers.

PS If anyone has had trouble logging on to my site lately, the problem has been repaired. This has been a Public Disservice Announcement.

  3. Fashion: Adding one's individual taste and creativity to the adages "dress for success" and "dress the part". The '80s were a fashion anomoly, however.

  4. Didn't you, Dddragon? I was tempted to promise it but I wasn't sure I could think of anything. I came up with four, though. Each a little lamer than the last. This was the last.

Sounds pretty martial, gabriel. Are you sure? Thanks for the notice.

Sar, how did I know you'd have a positive response to the word? Thank you.

  5. doug: I'm also trying to figure out/why how TLP came up with her comment yesterday - did she manuever you into making Fashion today's word? Maybe I missed something.

  6. How well you know me, Doug! My first instinct was to write:

Accessorize, Accessorize, Accesorize...especially the shoes! ;)

  7. fashion, n. a trend that is always bound to return. There is just so much new you can do to a pair of trousers!

  8. Dddragon, I never figured it out either and I'm hoping she'll explain. And yes. I am but her instrument.

Sar, you mean like tie 'em?

Monika, you mean like wash 'em?

  10. By the way, Doug, I hadn't yet mentioned how much I like your new avatar.

Maybe one of these days, I will.

  12. uh oh... another earworm:

    There's a brand new dance
    But I don't know it's name
    That people from bad homes
    Do again and again
    It's big and it's bland
    Full tension and fear
    They do it over there
But we don't do it here

Fashion - Turn to the left
Fashion - Turn to the right
    We are the goon squad
    And we're coming to town
    Beep-beep - Beep-beep

  14. Aral, that's one more thing we have in common, birth sign, musical taste and lesbianism being the others. If I'd known you were going to bring David Bowie in here, I wish the word had been fame or Pressure.

Why, I'll look forward to that, Gabriel. This icon is a weeklong tribute to Goa'uld.

Shirazi, I'm delighted that you did. Meet some of my other friends. Friends, this is Shirazi and her site is terrific. There's a link on the right.

Masil, that's my exact claim to depth.

  15. Fashion: The merry-go-round of taste. (I like Masil's definition)

  16. it's all about dressing, with passion

what, no word verifier to go with my Gucci sunglasses?

  17. that guy is scaring me. wave some garlic in front of him please?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Me too, Indie.

Karma, no more verifiers until the spammers return. Gabriel was having trouble working it into his lifestyle. You can't mean Indie! Well, I guess you could mean Indie, but if you don't recognize him you should be reading his site.

  20. Fashion, n.
An authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of dress and social interaction.

First time I've been on a PC today. So I'm late. I should have guessed that you'd do this word, but I'm not functioning at my highest level right now. So lame def. inspite of "should have been prepared."

I swear that yesterday when I looked at your profile page that you had changed the occupation to fashion. You and the girls got together to tease me on this, right? I'm not getting senile, right?

  21. fashion, n. Simply a recyling of the customary, and one way to keep track of the popular culture of any given time in history.

  22. Worship of fashion is just another form of worshipping Mammon. Devil, get thee OUT!

  23. Karma, he's here just to tomorrow.

TLP IS NOT CRAZY! Doug The Una lists Fashion as his industry, mainly because it requires very little memory.

That is such good news, a4g. What's a Chuck Taylor?

Yes, Alice. It's a shroud society stitches itself.

Soapy, this is one of those times I agree with you.

  24. Fashion -- Deviation from what has been working fine so far. No?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Shirazi, deviation is a key word, yes.

Shreekesh you have too little faith in the substance of thin cloth.

    ReplyDelete
  26. A ha! So, Bowie it is.

I'm glad to see that TLP isn't insane, by the way.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Me too, Aral, but also a little sad to see who is.
