Pansi tagged me to write a 6-word memoir, which is: Too many words spoil the plot.
MEMOIR, n. A look back at life as it might have been lived looking forward. A memoir can be distinguished from an autobiography in that an autobiographer has research assistants and the memoirist makes do with only a ghostwriter.
Too many plots spoil a life.
ReplyDeleteI am first, by the way.
ReplyDeleteMany words: happy writer, unhappy reader.
ReplyDeleteSix Words? Write it yourself, six word meme.

Memoirs are told using a fuzzy lens.
Tell that to Tolstoy, my friend.
ReplyDeleteTLP, is their a transitive property of spoilage? Too many acres spoils a burial?
ReplyDeleteYa know, Ice, I was just saying that the other day to a friend of mine who is a big Cubs fan. I mean, a huge Cubs fan. Back in the days of the Sosa/McGuire home run race, he used to put Mark McGuire's picture on dart boards. I'm not kidding. And his dad was from Saint Louis, too. Well, not Saint Louis but that area. Definitely Missouri and to the East of Colombia, which is the traditional dividing line between Cardinals fans and Royals fans. Man, is there anyone sorrier than a KC fan? I mean, I like George Brett and all but he wouldn't have a statue in front of any other ballpark, I can tell you. And what's with no statue for Rod Carew?
Six photographs/six thousand words, Jim?
Thanks, Pansi. I tried to honor you in the breach.
And soft lighting, JD. And sometimes, a Sharpie tattoo.
I tried, G. Couldn't get a word in edgewise.

ReplyDeleteMemoir, n. A series of gentle reflections on how life slowly teaches humility, written by the guy whose face fills the back cover.
ReplyDeleteenough of those everlasting enduring memories ............ but then what would the present and future be without the past ......
ReplyDeleteThat's sure to be a best seller, Doug!
ReplyDeleteToo few plots - a dogs life.
ReplyDeleteMemoirs are written in bed - on a lap desk, while wearing a silk robe, coughing consumptively, and trying to figure out how to use that god forsaken feather quill pen.
JJ, I have fantasized about one day meeting one. Actually, I met one last year and she had a single horn growing from the middle of her forehead.
ReplyDeleteMireille, that's Mireilliously ambiguous.
a4g, and reinforced on the book tour in every signature.
Surprising, Brer Bear.
Quilly, at a penny a word, I'll make my fortune.
Cooper, that's funny.

ROTFL Mireille! The best memoir. If I have a tombstone, I'll have those words written on it.
ReplyDeleteWhat's ever happened to her other horn, Doug?
Ariel, that's a brave question.
ReplyDeleteNot all of us loathe verbosity
JJ, that goes doubly for Unicorns.
ReplyDeleteAriel, what always happens. She broke it off and dipped it in ink to write the Mabharatta.
Terry, where there's democracy I never win.
