  1. Those Jones' get a bad rap. Where would we be if we didn't try to outdo each other? Oh, yeah, on the beach relaxing.

  2. PS: I haven't forgotten you.

And the fox and penguin fable was lovely.

And knowing the Opi joke means we are old or watch too much late night TV. I don't know if any of that is good.

  5. Outdo -- my general personality and middle name. I think it stems from being the youngest and forever being told, "You're too little."

Given my personality, my response was pretty predictable. Anything you can do I can do better; I can do anything better than you.

  6. That TLP is a witty gal.

Outdo: oneupmanship - always having a bigger, better story. If you've never seen Brian Regan the comedian, he has a bit called I Walked on the Moon. It is quite funny and worth a You Tube look. He's my favorite comedian since Jerry Seinfeld.

Gotta go... my dad and I are going to seal the railing and steps on the back porch. It is SO hot today, we might end up roasted and charred.

  10. outdo - the original name of what we (some of us) now know as skido. the name was changed to avoid confusion with the outhouse.

  13. Almost there, Nessa. At our age, it is only right.

Minka, self-confidence comes natural to the wobbly-bellied.

    Clever, blogmama. And southern.

Of course it was, Quilly. As a first-born, patronizing the eager comes naturally, too.

JD, I bet you'll have that seal trained in no time. Regards to Grampa.

Yep, Karen, that's what it comes to if you're lucky.

Topped me again, darn you, Bear.

    Right, Pansi. An NG4J look.

Yeah, ironic, isn't it, Actonbell. RIP, indeed, Actonbell. I'm sad about yesterday's news yet having a terrible time stifling jokes about how I hope they checked to make sure he's dead on the inside, too.

Saurkraut, the tallest tale of the day. Congratulations. Did I ever tell you about how I cleaned the Augean outhouses?

Well, that's good news, isn't it, Karma?

Ariel, I want to sing like Martin Gore.
