Debauchee

DEBAUCHEE, n. One who has so earnestly pursued pleasure that he has had the misfortune to overtake it.

2010 Update: A woman whose ingenuousness succumbs to her ingenuity.

  1. You took liberties with libertines.

A debauchee is usually a MAN who is unrestrained morally. Also see Ambrose Bierce.

    Rabbit Rabbit Dougie Dougie.

  2. Also I'm first on the first. Hate to brag, because I'm normally so restrained.

  4. Dougie Dougie,

Have fun this weekend. Drink plenty of PBR but do not eat too many hot dogs. When the party is over it's over. You'll need all your strength for the flight back to LAX.

And remember, the white zone is for loading and unloading of passengers only.

  5. "...a turkey is just a butterfly with meat."

    This was so funny.

I prefer the "hibatchi" - it performs a better charbroil.

I do like today's word. I do. (I don't like my previous comment vanished.)

I'm sure it's just a coincidence you picked it for Canada Day.

  12. In the 2010 update, is that pronounced debau-CHEE (as in cheese) or debau-SHAY (as in divorcee)?

Just to get it right next time I'm introducing myself.

  17. TLP, libertines are for taking liberties with. I take your point, but debauched men are invisible to me and I have no experience with them.

    Danke, Nessa. Rabbit rabbit.

Thanks, Karen. I might not drink, but by golly I'll eat until I'm intoxicated. You have a grand Independence Day yourself.

Nessa, that calls to mind a story from last year this time, but I ain't telling it.

Why, thank you, JJ. I hope you had a fine Canada Day. Wish I'd remembered it.

Terry, the hibachi is particularly good for rabbits.

Quilly, I'm sure Thom is the victim here.

    See?

Peace, Bear. May all your stalkers have soft spears.

Jenn, I should have saved it for your birthday. It's sort of a Jenn word.

    Susan, it's pronounced "Se-na-tor."

Thank you, Danny. Good to hear from you.

    Only when we're birding, QB.

Ariel, some day they'll find it in Cab Calloway's attic. I'd like to hear it too.

Karen, nice of you to greet Cooper. Did you hear her voice in your head?

Just how I remember you, Karma.

Thanks, A-bell. So far I've mostly spent it sleeping off the red eye and the gravy.

Karen, the several states aren't allowed to keep out undesirable citizens, which is why we spend so much time worrying about undocumented immigrants, I think.

  19. Tee Hee. Doug is smarter than Thom. And Thom is smarter Nessa. And Nessa is smarter than Ariel the Thief.
