Politically incorrect term for a member of the Rom, which must be short for "romanticized."

I wanted to be one, but didn't want to leave home.

Professional wanderers, disliked for their ability to sell a story that may or may not be true. xoxo

An itinerant seller. Sort of like a politician running for president.

GYPSY, n. Mirage. When what you see is not what you get.

GIPSY: Did you mean the more commonly used "Gypsy?"

GIPSY: Always reminds me of the experience I had with the Gypsy pickpocket lady and her kid in Rome!

GIPSY: Secondly, reminds me of being 'tipsy.'

Just to look at you
My heart grows tipsy in me
You and you alone

Bring out the gypsy in me

Doug, I think, your definition is perfect.

Weirsdo, I was lured into it by Ambrose Bierce. There probably are no politically correct, ethnonyms. They all mean barbarian or thief in the neighboring tongues.

Icy, you can be a gypsy at home. Just roll yourself in a rug and eat cat food.

Mireille, that's a good reason for disliking people. I tend to frown on anyone who might tell the truth too.

A lot like that, TLP, but more honest.

Karma, priorities are important.

Amoeba, what you see is 90 degrees from what you lose.

Exactly, Jim. Ambrose Bierce is responsible for the spelling.

Ira, I had no idea you wrote Haiku.

HAHAHAHAHAHA, Quilly. Sounds like a topic for The Grownups Wanted Us Dead.

Thanks, Ariel. It would have been better if I'd stolen it.

I have an inner Gypsy...love to dress like one on occasion and I love to travel...I have lived in 3 countries and moved 25 times.
My maiden name is Romig...comes from Holland. I have been told that it has Romany roots.
I am however adopted by my Step Father so it must be my pure Icelandic Viking blood that keeps me roaming...but what explains the way I dress?

RBUD: I didn't blame you, but "gypsy" insults not only the Rom but the Egyptians as well.

Ira's contribution comes from "Embraceable You."

I can't do better. Kipling seemed rather fond of the Gipsy.

It's what I call the stray cat I feed from time to time. I used to call it gypsy with a "y". I will now call it gipsy with an"i".

Mo'a your aqueous humor?

Great lyric, Actonbell. Thanks.

I'm with you, Weirsdo. Insults should always come in complete sentences, not single words. American music of that era I'm embarrassingly ignorant of. Which era, again?

Sauerkraut, a moth is not a man, although the converse isn't true.

Terry, hearts are pretty much there for the stealing in your family, aren't they? Good thing you all grow so many.

Did you change the spelling for political correctness, Cooper?
