Monarchical Government

MONARCHICAL GOVERNMENT, n. Government.

2007 Update: A regime arranged on the principle that a single leader, anointed by birth, defended by the strong and advised by the learned, can support the local demand for folly.

The Queen! The Queen!

It would seem my home of Richmond has been transformed into a Monarchial Government influenced Fantasty Island.

MONARCHICAL GOVERNMENT, n. comp.

1. Non-piratical government.

2. A government that takes more than one suicide bomber (unless he's very good, or lucky) to bring down.

Pogo's proud of you, Dawg.

Let's try this again (now I can't even delete these typos ...)

MONARCHICAL GOVERNMENT, n. comp.

1. Non-piratical government.

2. A government that takes only one suicide bomber to bring down. Or one modern high-tech army. Depends on how good, or lucky, they are.

Pogo's proud of you, Dawg.

MG: Inbred royalty
Dysfunctional dynasty

I saw a news clip of the Queen in VA yesterday. She looked kind of like The Mad Hatter, only not nearly as perky.

Truly,"W" is a 13th cousin of Britain's Queen Elizabeth. (Talk about bad luck for her.) So he's not just the AntiChrist ya know.

And he takes his decider role very seriously. Thus we get our monarchical government.

Monarchy: A system of government that sets expectations and plans to cover decades rather than months. Kings understand that impeach=dead and people expect consistancy, rather than change, from their leaders.

Parlimentary Monarchy: The most effective method known for maintaining the status quo. The parliment cannot fight the monarch and the monarch cannot control the parliment. So the rest of us can buy bread, go to work, and live our lives as we wish.

Minka, you don't have people to do that for you? Well, I suppose its a small country.

Mule, *readjusts empty coffee cup*

Tattoo you, Sar.

King Michael, Minka?

Mule, I'm just getting around to that. Some coffee would be swell. I lift my eyes to the hills, from where will my coffee come?

Mutha, that was great! I remember being a kid in Illinois and all the butterflies were Monarchs. I would ask "what kind is that?" "That's a Monarch Butterfly." "And that?" Also a Monarch butterfly. The American dream thrives in the heartland of our country among the moths.

We have seen the enemy, Amoeba, and he is us.

Jamie Dawn, is it just me or does royalty run to ugly?

TLP, I never imagined we'd get 10 comments in before someone brought up the President. Someone should make sure Sar's ok and where's Karen?

Morgan, I'm kind of with you. The key to a happy society is rulers too outraged to rule.

JJ, in the land of the one-eyed, the deaf man is king.

Quilly, I can't believe you run a monarchy. Whom would a queen have to sabotage?

Doug, the plans of ten year old boys often require sabotaging. And the plans of ten year old girls always require sabotaging.

Monarchical Government: system in which human rights have the same chance of survival as an inbred hemophiliac on the losing end of a firing squad.

(lovelovelove your update, by the way. that cartoon's cute, too!)

Doug said...

JJ, you have said it.

Neva, on tea is my guess.

Of course, Quilly, because the plans of ten year olds are always sabotage.

Al, we are amused.

Neva, funny you mention inbred hemophiliacs in front of firing squads. I mean, that's just funny.

heaven for paparazzis, tea makers, flower arrangers and hat designers.

purgatory for second degree dignitaries who await for the princes' to marry their daughters.

hell for the poor who were born to make silver spoons to feed the blue blooded royal councils with.

Monarchical Government, n. Unlike a democracy, where a cadre of shadowy powerbrokers must create the illusion that the public's votes make a difference, in a monarchy, they need only fool the king.

The Ice Queen fits today's definition beautifully.

All Hail Queen Minka

After seeing her at Disneyland, there is no doubt in my mind about who the monarch is!

puppybrose said...

as for my humble offering (Ice Queen notwithstanding)...

i thought the inbred hemophiliac/firing squad seemed more elegant (and/or less obvious) than something involving a lynch mob with Tsar and Feathers. ; )

Doug said...

Asiansmiles, nice progression. And the royal dogwalkers?

a4g, that kind of thing is why I envy you. My only consolation is you live with children.

Kyah, I figured you got the hint when she offered you her train.

Tsar and feathers, Punnybrose. Nice.

In a bit of synchronicity, we rented "The Queen" tonight. I don't think I'll do a Pezland review of it, but if I did, I'm afraid it would get "You Suck and That's Sad", or two stars out of four.
