Redefining misanthropy for a fresh generation. Standard posts begin with a definition from Ambrose Bierce's The Devil's Dictionary followed by a modern adjustment. Miscellany on Wednesday and storytelling on Saturday.
(Hey, somebody's gotta be the scientist around here.)
Shahryar was probably dreading the reception anyway. And this arrangement will simplify the matter of keeping (not to mention dispatching) the royal concubines.
Wonderful. The perfect amount of vindication and unrequitedness and redemptive self-knowledge and ... Doug, you're such a good writer. It really irks me. Happy Easter to you, curmudgeon. xoxo
Hopeless, romantic/cynic. Ha ha - when the final wedding scene arrives, YOU will be the one swept off your feet - as in "Broad"-sided...
Excellent as usual - and this Easter in Chicago was one of great fun, friends, and genuine enjoyment. You can't go wrong spending time with a curmudgeon beagle. We miss you already. Bear and Crow.
Likewise, Bear and Crow. You guys are great fun. A banner weekend. Plus, it's always good to have another blogger friendly enough to join the chorus of doom.

Ah, the joy of living in a time zone where being last makes one first!

LOL! Wonderful. Didn't see that coming.
It's a good day when you can irk and impress Mireille.
Bravo! :-)
Happy Easter!
Quilly, wouldn't it be a better world if the mothers-in-law married instead. I'm a hopeless romantic.
Happy Easter, Amoeba.
Thanks, Actonbell. You too.
Mireille, don't hate me because I'm beautiful.
TLP, a banner day for sure.
Thanks, sis. Happy Easter to you and Ylime.

I didn't see it coming either, but then again I'm naturally obtuse.
Bravo.
Hope your Easter was splendid.
So, the blind, hare-lipped barber got lucky??!
Good!
Great way to wrap it all up.
Thanks, Cooper. It was grand. I hope yours was as well.
JD, as an old okie mechanic I once knew used to say "Dirty old men need love too!"
Nice, vindictive and kinda a comedic relief. I loved this storyline...very much indeed. Thank you!
Thank you, Minka. The pleasure was all mine, I suspect.
