freshman: a class by itself; specifically the congressional freshman class

I still can't handle the pressure of possibly being first. I will always be a Waking Ambrose freshman though it's been over 4 years.

Doug, normal people or many people not us, would have graduated college in that time frame and not remained freshman for two or more years

Linguistically, a holdout against political correctness. "First year student," too neutral, never catches on, and the connotations of "fresh" are a barrier to other alterations.

I can still remember my University of Nebraska freshman days. And I still have my red and white freshman beanie. We had to wear it a whole year.
..
Really, I'm 'out-a-here' today, far away places are calling.

Now-a-days, they are rarely innocent, but still always pickled. What am I saying - very few were ever innocent - ignorant of certain things, maybe.

freshman - where 15 lb find homes.

If we rename freshmen, will we all lose those 15?

Everyone was one, yet we all look down on the freshmen the very next year. I conclude that my freshmen classmates were cool, but that next bunch..ew.

True, Pia. Maybe we savored Freshman year not wisely but too well.

And "freshperson" sounds like a Viking, Weirsdo.

Jim, keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Nah, Karma, I figure you recognize both types from long experience.

Nessa, I don't remember. That year's a blank.

Sauerkraut, when we rename everything we just add 15 pounds to the dictionary. It was "Freshman Five" in 1985, by the way.

Quilly, that's a serious school.

Terry, it was the middle of 10.

Amoeba, first semester maybe.

I bet she still is, Tom.

TLP, I had no illusions about mine. Of course, I went through a few sets.

Not on Friday night or Monday morning, Poobah.

Actonbell, I'm not sure what one of those is, but I hope it entertains you to Schaumberg.
