Outsider

OUTSIDER, n. A person austerely censorious of that which he is unable to do or become. In commerce and finance, a member of the army of provision.

2009 Update: Every member of congress, each American journalist, the entire class of working people, any accountant, police officer, preacher, pundit, populist, layabout, roustabout, goldbrick, drunkard, teetotaler, academic, artist, manager, managee, social worker, malcontent, discontent, pollyanna, lama, rabbi, imam, infant, decedent, defendant, prosecuting attorney, judge, juror, executioner, monarchist, patriot, jihadist, bartender or, in the end, every individual member of the great global village of outcasts and separatists as well as their cats. All but the dog.

As an outsider looking in Mrs. Jim would like me, a retired teacher, to come out and join her, a social worker by class. I would rather invite her inside.
Glad the dogs are not included since this seems to be an undesirable standing.
Also glad to be early this morning.
Firsters are seldom outsiders.

Good thing I'm a friend of the dog. Maybe he'll let me tag along.

OUTSIDER, n.

1. A person who is voluntarily undomiciled, as a park ranger or environmentalist.

2. A person who is involuntarily undomiciled, as an erstwhile beneficiary of a collapsed pension plan.

I love your definition! You covered all the bases.

Outsider: one who enjoys fresh air.

I'll get caught up with the weekend story soon. Lots has been happening in life lately. If you think of it, please say a prayer for my MIL who is having a mastectomy on Wed. We are praying her lymph nodes are clear of cancer, so her prognosis will be good. I pray that you are doing well and enjoying the holiday season.
Woof Woof! That's for the doggies.

You're definition is so..so..all inclusive, so politically correct, so un Doug-like. Love it.

The real outsiders came before Francis Ford Coppola did a film from that coming of age book and made outsiders cool.

I was feeling good about being included in all of the outsiders (within the working class I believe) but then I became jealous that it is only the dog which is not left out. Dawg. How did you get so lucky?

True, Jim and I think you're right, better your wife be inside facing out than you outside facing in, as the adage partially goes.

Did you bring a sausage, Nessa?

Cthulu bless, Cheesie.

Kind of crowded these days, huh, Ariel?

Only I would mis-spell it, too, Pia.

Them too, Thom. And Hawai'ian malcontents.

Amoeba, I'm wondering about socks these days.

Stay gold, Howardd. I think I must have been waiting for someone to bring that up but didn't realize it.

Thanks, JD. I can pray that and did.

Maybe a little moreso, Actonbell.

Cooper is that how a 20-something's scripture reads? I credited Brando.

With us, Ariel, it's getting warmer.

Night Bear. Yeah, it even rained yesterday, by golly.

Poetic license, Crow.

Only when he goes to the marketplace, Amoeba.

Not here, Quill.

In the land of the Amish, there are insiders and outsiders. Rumspringer brings them in, or leaves them out.

And then there are the wives. Some men have an "inside" wife; others, and "outside" wife. I'll go no further.

No further than an inside wife and an outside wife?
