is that a bean? or a pod?

wait wait, don't tell me -- it's a giant silver representation of the part of a woman's anatomy that rhymes with...Dolores.

very cool and/or intriguing addition to Chicago's landscape. is this your way of enticing more folks to sign up for the "meet 'n greet" next year?

can i really be the only one who's noticed these pictures? or am i the ONLY one who can see these pictures?? hey, maybe that bean is magic, after all. ; )

Is a magical bean like magical fruit?

Neva, I need to check your sister's book again.

Both are musical, Sar.

Me too, Ariel. It's not the best photo of the bean but it's the best reflection.

Jenna, sorry for the distraction.

Where's Cecil? :P

I missed that bean when we where there about three years back. I'm gonna be sure to see it next March.

I second Ariel...the last one is fantastic. So you are travelling, who is holding your leash?

I just hope that the person that polishes it has a climbing license!

lol. love minka's comment. i also wonder what they use for polishing? windex? looks like they use boxfuls of it.

No, Amoeba -- where's Jack? Clearly this is a magic bean!

Magic bean? Oh, is it now? Fee, fi, fo, fum, I smell the blood of a Chicago-un.

A shiny, pretty, smooth, and glossy surface to reflect a twisted and distorted image of the things behind the observer. What did the artist call it, "The Media"?

But seriously, I like it. Jenna took my first response.

i forgot... you don't watch Seinfeld, do you? because if you did, not only would you know what i'm talking about, you'd laugh. at least i think you'd laugh... ; )

Amoeba, that was just a great reference. Your propellor must have spun right off your head.

TLP, it was 2005 when I was last there and they were just finishing it. We'll admire it together in March, Insha'llah.

Minka, they give them falling waivers.

Asiansmiles, that's a great question. The guys on the scaffold were using giant electric buffers but according to the friend who showed it to me, they started with welded sections of stainless steel so I'm thinking grinding down must have been most of the cost.

Joel, and we're gonna be some pretty pod people, aren't we?

Clearly Quilly. He's up in the clouds. You can't see the stalk at all.

Amoeba, may I say you're extra funny in Hawaii. I think I'd go the other way. 32 years in recovery, by the way. One day at a time, brother. One day at a time.

Haha, Actonbell. I finally could me too you and didn't want to miss my shot.

Probably, Morgan, but in the media they call it "the bean."

Neva, I'm sure I'd laugh. I think I'd laugh at your all jokes,
