Acclimated
ACCLIMATED, p.p. Secured against endemic diseases through having died of one.
Minka, I think it was George Bernard Shaw who said a man with no address is a vagabond and a man with two addresses is a libertine. A girl with three nationalities is a penguin.
Hobbes, like a honeybear (George Foreman, e.g.) to the sting of a bee?
Not too tart, not too sweet, Poobah.
Al, isn't that one of the memorable ones?
Oooh, Puppybrose. ACCLIMATED, p.p. Introverted. I almost got there. Thanks!
I think OC explained this to me last night at dinner when I complained about all the stop and go driving we do here. He said he was certain I would improve my gas mileage -- or at least do away with the need to complain about it -- if I refrained from stopping at traffic lights.
Upon giving his comment some thought, I instantly acclimated myself to both the stop and go traffic and the price of gasoline in Hawaii. (Besides, I don't fill the gas tank!
I was told that I'd become acclimated to the humid weather here. That proved to be false. I'm not complaining though. I like the weather here very much, but my sweat factor on humid days remains high. Maybe I just need another summer under my belt before the acclimation begins. I'm just hoping for another wonderfully mild winter this year. My body has no ability to acclimate to cold weather. Being cold makes my back jerk. It is not very enjoyable.

I am an East-German girl, living in Iceland and having a degree in English!
acclimated, misplaced geography
Inured.
acclimated - A feeling of being not too hot, not too cold, but juuuuust right.
Acclimated: In French, acclimatés, referring to the final stage in their oft-practiced custom of Trading Nations
(Bierce really nailed this one, Doug.)
Acclimated: desensitized and/or absorbed.
hafta agree with Al, Bierce's definition was spot on. yours was pretty damn good, too. (but then, you knew that) ; )
Familiar with the climate. Also see zoned out.

Totally, TLP.
I'm acclimated to having no definitions this week.
I suck.
acclimated: I don't want to go home as____
I love Bierce's definition. Anything I wanted to say seems so stupid now.
Acclimated: When public servants reach a stage of lackadaisical indifference.
Acclimated: Mea Culpa for all multi-national companies when caught selling faulty goods.
We take full responsibility for the alleged problems with the miniscule amount of _____. We became acclimated to consumers paying more for less.

ACCLIMATED, p. p. When you stop saying Ack! in response to your surroundings, and start saying eh...
Example: $3.50 a US gallon for US gasoline? Eh ...
Jenn, it's nice of you to show up when you don't feel like playing. Thank you.
Pia, don't you miss the construction dust?
Ariel, what you need is a good sneeze, I bet.
Yep, Theresa. That's where every learning curve ends.
Brian, have you noticed they apologize to everyone now?
Quilly, that's the kind of thing you should grow used to.
Jamie Dawn, there's nothing worse than back jerky, is there? I like the cold, though.
Amoeba, that's not a whole lot worse than California. I barely feel the poke anymore although the vein's getting hard to find.
Having post surrender syndrome.
It has taken me a year to become acclimated to this smart blogspot... but now I'm so distracted I can't pay attention.
LOL back jerky is no fun - I hear the most amazing things over here!!
Waiting for today's story. I am acclimated to thinking it's here on Saturday mornings.
Cooper, it's something to get used to, isn't it?
True, Terry, you never quite know what folks will say here. I like that about this joint.
Sorry, Nessa it was up a little late. Dock an hour of my pay.
