PRACTICALLY, adv. The literary sloven's word for "virtually."
2007 Update: Cheaply, in business. Impossibly, in politics. Almost, in enterprise. Unaffectionately, in affection. A word with an impractical variation of meanings.
By the way, if you are having trouble loading The Prattler, would you mind emailing me? I have a mysterious electronic misbehavior I'm trying to correct.

Practically first? How's that? I'm not even supposed to be awake yet ...
Practically: From Proctology and California, a neuvo-Hollywood-fashionable way to cure hemorrhoids developed by granola-nature people in California about which they have written a best selling novel, including a diet-weight loss section, that has no scientific nor medical basis. "I went on the Practically system and lost 20 pounds while my pain, itching, and swelling went away like magic!"
I'm practically chomping at the bit to tell you something practical that I just realized.
I've been spelling Diogenes incorrectly, Diogenese.
I knew something was out of place in my life, and NOW all is right with the world.
Have a practically splendid day!
Thanks to the Internet, that which was practically impossible is readily achievable virtually.
While rarely achieved virtuously, this is simply a practicality.
bedplz,
Morgan
yeah, we've been meaning to talk to you about electronic misbehavior. "Unaffectionately, in affection:" the practically loveless marriages of convenience. xoxo
Practically: thisclose, but no cigar.
note to Diogenes: Dear Philosopher, we all are honest. We just cannot practically speak it.
LOl at Mireille, "yeah, we've been meaning to talk to you about electronic misbehavior." Most excellent!
I nearly forgot to check blogs today. And for all practical purposes, I haven't done much in that regard. It just wasn't practical to spend time on-line.
My four-day weekend is practically over...sighh
practicality, n. lack of a higher goal;
practically, adv. aspirationally challenged
yeah, I'm practically a virgin too.
I have virtually suffered hours of angst over the electronic misbehavior here. It is the cheaply and unaffectionately put together google blogger causing the impossibly trying effort.
Not the Weirsdo way, unfortunately.
I almost thought of something to say
I left a comment here this morning. I see Blogger chose to eat it -- definitely a practically functioning service that is anything but practical.
Amoeba, looks like the horns of dawn blatted early.
OE, I couldn't find it on Amazon. You write it.
Jamie Dawn, I've been understanding "Diogenese" as "Greek."
Morgan, it's really the substitution of frivolous for impossible, isn't it?
Mireille, here's some more electronic misbehavior: A marriage of convenience sounds to me like an ambitious dream.
Neva, sometimes thisclose is just thisclose.
Ariel, no oracle was ever so wise.
TLP, for me either.
Rise and shine, Joel.
Excellent diagnosis, Minka. Can you prescribe an AD remedy?
Cooper, aren't you glad no one gets pregnant blogging?
Weirsdo, if it helps I think the problem is genetic.
Icy, "woof" is sufficient.
Sorry about that, Quill. I'm glad the second time was the charm.
Puppy - good one!
WOW, the week is already practically over, and it has barely begun. Don't you love these short weeks?
"The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and the lightning bug." Mark Twain
What? They are practically the same, after all.
