Intelligent

INTELLIGENT, adj.  In politics, having a vote-in journalism, taking the paper; holding the same opinion  as oneself; rich; veneered by the Chatauqua Society.
Sourissa was intelligent-
She worshipped only brain
Dudeus was so swell a gent
He looked with high disdain
On intellect.  He said: "If you
Were nicely stupid I would woo."

Sourissa, contumelius,
Induced him with a kick
To revolute cartwheelious
Until the man was sick.
Contemplative of his gyrade,
"nobody asked you." she sayd.
2008 Update: Able to distinguish among lying, treason and fair trade.

My ex-husband's daughter had such dazzling SAT scores that colleges fought over her, yet MORE THAN ONCE she got out of her car, locked it and walked away having turned the key to axillary rather than off.

"Deb, was the radio playing when you walked away from the car?"

"Yes, but I figured it would quit eventually."

"Uhmm, well, yes, but ...."

Intelligence, the ability to distinguish a fire; I mean, to distinguish among wisdom, narcissism and death.

hahahah, Quilly. I know more than a few Ivy League grads who couldn't tie their shoes unless mommy dearest was guiding their fingers.

Intelligent: ummm... what was the word again? Oh. Yeah.

What some people confuse with competence. As in... gw is schmahtd enough to get a couple Ivy League degrees, but he ain't intelligent enough to string together two words into a sentence.

one must be discerning
when attempting to determine
the truth beneath the surface...
perhaps there is a difference
between intelligence
and simple common sense,
or even sixth sense...
or sick sense.
or six cents...
or scents
or sentience
or...

Jenn, I appreciate your bringing it down to out level.

Terry, the abillity to multi-task ought to be on the test. Or the nest.

Amoeba, by their fruits you shall know them.

Quilly that sounds eerily familiar.

Icy, which is the one where you think every funeral is yours?

Nucular, Sauerkraut. Nucular.

JJ, you sound like you're at a seance and have been ever since.

Anonymous, by jiminy, it's raining here. Better to be lucky than wise, I once heard an old beggar say.

Funny, Minka and thank you. The rain made my firecrackers all mushy. I bet the fire will end up in little puddles.
