The Unionville Chronicles
Seventeenth Canto
This week's reading is by recent birthday girl, Minka. Click on the mass to listen. Thank you, Minka. Happy birthday to Pia.
If you want to read the story, share with the mare.
Ah, Monica's lovely voice. I'm one of the lucky who have seen the lovely face to go with it. Wonderful job Minka. And the usual good writing to go with it.
Thanks for the shout out to the grandtwins. They come home today from a music camp. The older-by-one-minute just spent 3 weeks in Germany. They're a busy couple of kids.
ya, what a cool voice! oh, and happy birthday Minka, happy birthday Pia, happy birthday G, happy birthday Bear... and all of my fellow moon children...
Loved this horsey chapter Doug. Minka - your reading truly makes one want to edge up closer to the storyteller, and hang on to each word that rolls off your lips. What a lovely accent - nice to hear it again.
Happy birthday month to all the crabs... my own beloved included. I love Moon Children.
the age old question,to eat from the common trough, munchies are good for as long as the master is willing, but should you not do his bidding, life can become quite debilitating...thoughts to ponder as to ones' existence..roads not taken only lead to theoretical wonder...one should rejoice in individual choice......Happy Birthday Monika..wonderful read, delighful script......Peace may it fill all hearts..........
Cancer In astronomy and astrology, Cancer, (Latin for crab), is one of the twelve constellations of the zodiac. Cancer is small and dim, and to many it does not resemble a crab. It lies between Gemini to the west and Leo to the east, Lynx to the north and Canis Minor and Hydra to the south.
In the 1970s there was a proposal to rename the zodiac sign, as some astrologers felt that an imagined association with the disease Cancer was off-putting. Some people with the sun sign of Cancer refer to themselves as moon children instead (the sign is associated with the Moon in astrology).
Making fun of our parents is such fun. But, be careful... moon children are prone to being sensitive and you wouldn't want to hurt his feelings...

Minka, I made schneewittchenkucken but I might have done the recipe wrong. It fell into seven small pieces.

The birds in the background were a nice touch :) Doug, I think Monica is admitting to bandit skills.

TLP, did the Germans learn any Tok'ra?
G, Monika's bandit skills were never in question.
Thanks, Sis.
JJ, who knew so many people aged in July?
Monika, Happy birthday to all from November nation.
Thanks, Cooper. Was it the hay trough that made it a birthday story?
Thanks, JD.
I'm curious, Terry. Why are crabs called moon children? I want to make fun of my father, if at all possible.

Doug - That is an interesting question.

Bear, I still don't know what to do when I get near hay.
Thanks, Terry, and not to worry. My father has hide like a rhino and the face to go with it.
i think your dad is suitably adorable,
but then, i'm wild about
crusty curmudgeons too,
so, go figure.
i'm sick of feelings...
i wouldn't mind trading in
a few of them
for some nice thick
rhino hide.
I love rhinos. We call them "horned-nose" in Hungarian. When you see a rhino, the first thing you notice is that it is HUGE.
