Fear

FEAR, n. A sense of the total depravity of the immediate future.
He either fears his fate too much,
Or his deserts are small,
Who dares not put it to the touch-
Who'd rather pass than call.

Oh Gosh, I always call!
Especially when I am FIRST!
More later, I'll pass for now.
..
I was here even earlier but I hate to leave a misspelled word on the Internet. I am afraid of ridicule when I do that.

I'm afraid that I fear just about everything.

Fear is my middle name (and my first initial and my personal suffix.)

Wow, great definition, Doug, I don't think it can be übered. Sometimes you sound like someone else.

An emotion that we are born with, so it must serve a purpose.

At the start we fear being launched down the birth canal into life inself, and in the end we fear death. I think the first fear is valid.

Nothing to fear but fear itself.

Jim, you're right to fear ridicule. It's the easiest harm to come to.

Lily, just remember they can't take your freedom to imagine beetles under your pillow.

Nessa, and I go by Scary McSpooky.

Boo who?

Ariel, you just named my fear, actually.

That there's some fine philosophy, TLP. Glad you lived to tell it.

Where have I heard that before, Thom? Oh, yeah- in a nightmare.

FEAR, n. One of those who are paying their dues ("fees").

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

I will face my fear.

I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing.

Only I will remain.

- Frank Herbert

Caligula, let them google so long as they're uninformed.

Well quoted, Muad'dib. Still kind of nerdy, though.

Wakies, indeed, Quilly.

And the first of the coward, Poobah.

Hahaha, Bear. Welcome back. Good to see the tin foil protected your mind.

Actonbell, I think you just channeled Karma.

Sauerkraut, we're forgotten soon enough, it's true.

One of the great comics, Amoeba. Bless Walt (O')Kelly.
