Honorable, adj. Holding or having held a certain office in the public service-- a title of courtesy, as "the Honorable Snatchgobble Bilque, Member of Congress." In legislative bodies it is used to call all the members honorable, as "The honorable gentleman is a scurvy cur."
2005 Update: Scrupulous in denouncing only the most plausible sins of one's opponents and friends. Having a clean and crisply ironed sleeve in which to house an Ace.

Jeff Daniels... ha ha, very funny. It was Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior, and to claim otherwise is not honorable.
Sorry, Soapy. It looked like Jeff Daniels to me.
I realized what a cunning linguist you were when you commented that you felt like eating Soap for breakfast, but Little Bar of Soap is a Christian girl and wouldn't tolerate such behavior, yet it would be a life changing experience for her.
Honorable, adj. Descriptive of one whose fetishes and magazine subscriptions have yet to come to light.

when no one knows your lying, i used to honorable but apparently there are those that are catching on to my ways. dear bierce please help
Devil, now I understand your comment. I suppose accusing you of having a sinister mind would be silly, huh?
Gabriel, I saw a site on blogexplosion listing yours. Can't remember the name, though. Look for it.
Uh-oh, Andria, I'll be right over. By the way, obtuseness is an honorable alternative to lying.
Good, bad, or merely linking?
Hmmm...

No, I think it was a site about the fetishes and magazine subscriptions of bloggers. They had you up, I think, on Tuesday or Wednesday. Problem is they misspelled your name so I couldn't find it by googling. Really appalling, though, even considering what you admit to on your site.
Oh how I long for the day when we can once again say "honorable" and "Member of Congress" in the same sentence without a hint of sarcasm.
Well, it looks like its been 100 or more years since the last time, but I hope it happens for you.
Honorable never seems to have had the connotation of goodness, but it were rather people who held a certain office or were loaded that were associated with honorable. A name more for status than actual virtues, I believe. But then again, I am not a native speaker.
Monika, I think honorable the title is meant to reflect honorable behavior, It might have been the first spin.
Like the bright layout...thinking of changing mine here soon...but it is just in the thinking process which for me means that it could be a while...that is if it ever gets done...
Honorable is one of those tricky words...it's meaning is twisted to apply to the person whom they want to apply it too...for example
recently I read about an Indian woman who is being forced to marry her rapist...who just happens to be her father-in-law...according to the religious leaders of their city...marrying the woman will be the honorable thing to do
Thank you, Nightwriter.
Spiritdancer, you did a great job last time. I'm ok if you rest on your laurels a bit. In the case of the story you mention, it is tricky. I would have said Patricide by her husband would be honorable.
you sir are a man of honour. you will definitely get an honourable mention in my good books. it is not to be confused with venerable
All the good comments have already be made. Not that I would have thought of them.
Karma, that would be a lovely place for an honorable mention. That means fourth place, right? I'm patient and venerable if not honorable.
Tan Lucy, I'm delighted to have you just leave your name. Thanks.
