DISOBEDIENCE: Minka beat me to it but I'll say it anyway. Civil disobedience used to be OK, I'm not sure anymore!
[Got to watch out for the Patriot Act you know.]

Why is it disobedience for us dogs to poop in the house, but okay for cats and humans? Rules should apply to all!

Stubbornness in someone else.

I know nothing about Disobedience...I am a good girl. Minka buttmunch?...it is not in my dictionary, I looked between buttermilk sky and butternut.

DISOBEDIENCE n. my general demeanor when faced with any rule that lacks logic, compassion, or compliance to my will. (You may now all feel sorry for OC.)

Disobedience: I like Quilly's definition

Think civil disobedience is more important now than ever. Though when I find myself in a possible situation where I might act, I usually find myself on a plane going somewhere else

disobedience-more often than not, arising due to unclear expectations on one side or the other. Applies to dogs and children!

Minka, that's from the Nichomachean Ethics, aren't you?

Jim, I am careful not to attract their attention, Insha'allah.

Icy, I think you raise an excellent point.

Exactly, TLP. You f'rinstance.

Mo'a you're using the collegiate edition. Try the sophomoric.

Quilly, I always appreciate lack of compassion when it's listed among intolerables.

Pia, the act of getting on an airplane is almost complete surrender.

Kyah, that is a chemist's perspective on social graces.

"Nichomachean Ethics", Doug, for how long have you been waiting to use it? Almost spelled right... :-P

Disobedience: My general behavior when someone tells me what to do.

Nessa said...

Let's face it: if there were no rules, I wouldn't be bad.

Doug The Una said...

Sure, Mutha. Until someone puts an eye out.

2350 years, Ariel. I am so close on the spelling.

Milne deserves more credit than he gets, I think, Actonbell. Oh, bother!

Nessa, stop that this minute, young lady!

Disobedience: When there's a will, there's a stiletto.

TLP said...

You tell'em Sar.

Listen Douglas, I am the most agreeable person I know. Just ask me. There is never any question about my obedience. None at all. (Of course there will be none. No question.)

Your right Doug -- mom always said -- don't play ball in the house.
But then no one would break vases, try to glue them back and then let the humor happen...
Comedy has a cost.

disobedience: both the motivator for kids to get out of bed and what sends them back.

It's late - my little civil disobedients are both sleeping soundly.

Minka said...

You trying to make a stand, ignoring me like that?! Disobedience doesn't fly with me.

Doug The Una said...

Minka, "retract the other cheek" Nice twist, just according to instruction.

Sar, I should have known today's word would bring you back.

TLP, but if you're so agreeable how come you lasted so long?

Mutha, and little brothers are there to pay it.

G, they're sleeping on the job.

Betty Lou Thelma Liz, I have not yet begun to rebel.

Disobedience, in the eyes of anyone who has read history, is man's original virtue... ~Oscar Wilde

Disobedience: payin' no "never mind" because, well... never mind. ; )

I'm late getting in on this one.
It's past midnight here, so technically, this word's day has past.
I hope I'm not being DISOBEDIENT by adding my two cents after 12 a.m.
Oh, it's only just after 10 p.m. in CA, so I'm a-ok!!

Since I have little else to look forward to, disobedience is a definite silver lining in my dark cloud!
There were three entries in the Fruitcake Story Contest. Anyone who is so inclined,

Um...the last part of that message was very disobedient and ran off. I was trying to say, anybody who is so inclined, please come vote for your favorite of the three stories here.

Dissobedience: Too do as you do and not as you say.

Puppy, it's always good to quote Wilde.

You're ok, J.D. and, besides, I don't think I scold in my sleep.

OK, Lily, thanks for the heads up.

Boy, It's always trouble when you do as you do.

I can't believe I missed this one.

Sorry, Puppy. Was I too restrained in my effusion?

Mule, I figured you'd refused to comment.
