Nepotism
NEPOTISM, n. Appointing your grandmother to office for the good of the party.
2008 Update: The application of genetics to insure management of consistent quality.
Nepotism is all about family. I like that. I sure hope I have a super rich, long lost great-uncle that I don't know about who wants to hire me to sweep his porch for an annual salary of one million dollars. Sounds pretty good to me. You and Bierce are superb today! TLP had me chuckling too, also.
to insure consistent ?quality?,,,best i can tell, our current crew of nepotism spawn(whether school family,or genetic family)has not done much in the quality arena, unless the gauge is how much did i do for my "family" and NOT what was done on behalf of the America people.......its turkey time,,time to cull the herd...Peace&Love
Having been anthro major at one time when I see nepotism I think ethnic nepotism.
As my father would never want me designing his bridges, running his firm or answering his office phones I think I'm safe from being the benefactor, though I hear it's a good way to give that mother-in-law so many people seem to despise a paycheck so she doesn't mooch off you anymore.

Just wait until we have clones.
NEPOTISM, n. When you care enough to keep it all in the family.
Nepotism, when we share mycosis.
I like that "appointing your grandmother" thingie.
Note to self: Explain to granddaughters the value of nepotism.
NEPOTISM n. the best way to ensure that your no account relatives have jobs so they don't have to come live with you.

Hey! That's how I got my job!!!
Nepotism: Doug, you appoint your grandmother. I'll appoint Mrs. Jim, she's a very consistent manager of quality.
..
You bet, Icy. Every company will be GM.
Amoeba, blood will tell others what to do.
Ariel, I think you just won a golden beanie nomination.
TLP, you'll make a fine Secretary of State.
Quilly, the jury's still out on that, actually.
Jamie Dawn, I bet even with a million-dollar porch-sweeping job, you'll still find reason to flatter.
Bear, ring the bells and wring the necks, tralalalalala la la la la.
Cooper, you have learned much anthropology, I see.
Me, too, Jenn. Shall we not be mocked also?
I don't doubt that for a second, Jim.
Strangely, Actonbell, we did. My definition of Pedigree just became outmoded.
Anti-nepotism rules were once a barrier to women's employment in many colleges.
