Technicality

TECHNICALITY, n. In an English court a man named Home was tried for slander in having accused his neighbor of murder. His exact words were: "Sir Thomas Holt hath taken a cleaver and stricken his cook upon the head, so that one side of the head fell upon one shoulder and the other side upon the other shoulder." The defendant was acquitted by instruction of the court, the learned judges holding that the words did not charge murder, for they did not affirm the death of the cook, that being only an inference.

2007 Update: Any occasion upon which justice is satisfied in place of the plaintiff, press or public.

On a rather unusual technicality, I think I MAY be first!

Le pingouin n'est pas ici, cela est pour sûr. Elle utilisera bientôt des ailes pour venir ici.

Not her own of course, because Penguins cannot fly.....only a small Technicality.

technicality a hidden rule or condition which always seems to benefit those who least deserve and/or need benefit -- most especially when they are opposed to me.

Technicality: Derived from the roots techno (good dance music), I (me, myself) and cality (taking joy in craziness) the combined word means "Damn I love that crazy techo music!"

Doug, parlez vous francais?

Technicality: tipping point and/or stumbling block.

My brother was born at midnight.
He is a spawn of the devil - part werewolf, part vampire, part brat - Actually, he was born twelve minutes before midnight... but that's a technicality.

Technicality: A glitch which gets serial killers out of prison when it is discovered they were not read their Miranda rights.

Funny Icy, due to a small technicality - I am a human.

I don't have a definition as yet, but I shall instead illustrate technicality: "I didn't hit him, he pushed himself into me!". Technicality.

Amoeba, well done and I decline.

Diane, on a usual technicality you're second but that is no less auspicious.

Poobah, that depends on what the meaning of is is.

Too funny, Icy. On a technicality I'm mistaken for a man.

Mo'a, pourquois le francais? Vous savez bien que je ne puis pas comprendre.

Quilly, it's someone else's good roll of the dice.

Mais non, mon frere. Comment triste, non?

Puppybrose, the frame on a sliding glass door, then?

You too, Jamie Dawn and to your brother a good endless night.

G.J., then what do you call the ability to build one from parts obtained from all over the globe saving $1? A PhD in Economics, of course.

And welcome, old friend.

And I know that you understand perfectly.
However, I know that I was being rude....but not as rude, but as when I speak Icelandic here...or is that just a Technicality?
I am so sorry everyone :(

I just woke up. But I didn´t dream anything, so technically I did not fullfill the requirements of sleep, therefore I´ll go back to bed now...

Technicality: A child's logic (e.g., Mommy, I didn't take the cookie, I ate it right off the table) officially applied, in exchange for a fee, to excuse the misdeeds of grown-ups.

Good one today, Doug, as usual. Icy and G cracked me up.

Speaking of technicalities, how is it that Mo'a was considered rude, but OC wasn't? Is that the same rule that says the child who started the altercation never gets caught, only the child who retaliates?

And if it seems that I am sticking up for the wrong member of this duo, right is right, and I only apply exceptions to me (my personal application of a technicality).

Or the hard time, Mule.

See, Mo'a, and here I thought you were just being wise.

Minka, thanks for getting up so early in the afternoon to be here.

Al, isn't it amazing that's what they learn first. Mama, dada, Idint.

Quill, who besides Mo'a considered Mo'a rude? Not I! You're right to persecute OC. Keeps him humble.

Doug -- I wasn't accusing, just asking. I'm sure if you seem defensive that was just a language technicality based on my perception of your comment.

Quilly, I guess the thought did not cross my mind, that OC was being rude LOL. Thank you for setting loyalty aside.
Somehow my Mother's voice kept ringing in my ears, hence the apology.
Doug, you are always gentleman :)

Quill, what are you trying to say? I was framed!

S, linden?

Mo'a, thank you, Madame.

Sar, that's silly funny.

Bow wow, Kyah.

Mule, either way I'm overpaid.

I technically stick to the truth as much as possible. Life is easier that way. But I heard technicalities qualify as lies.

Sar said...

Hmmm, it's now Wednesday with no new post yet. At this moment, it would appear we're stuck on a technicality.

(Teehee! I amuse myself.)

Doug The Una said...

Minka, if I'd known I'd have set up catering.

Mistress, and what is it for stylists?

Mireille, not to fear. They know how to stay up there.
