DADO, n. Anything decorative for which the aesthetes know no better name.

2010 Update: A substantial non sequitur. An obsolete doodad.

Rabbit, rabbit!

Dados are very functional in furniture making. It can be the cut groove in which another piece of wood is positioned, usually perpendicular, and glued.
It is also the name of the machine that makes the groove.
Groovey, huh?

Cali last week - a couple

I often think my wife thinks of me this way, not that I am particularly decorative but she figures I must have some sort of use and perhaps it is to stand by her side at parties: a male Dado maybe?
:)

Never even heard of that.
But I'm excused, being German and all that.
Right?
Right :)

Rabbit, Rabbit

I don't think Dido would be considered a dado.

A base word. Shouldn't use it on a Monday.

Rabbit Rabbit

Good one Nessa!

Also agree most heartily with TLP.

Dado - the doohickey in the middle of two thingamabobs.

Bear says Hi Doug. His laptop is deado.

Jim, that's another good meaning.

JJ, Santa Rosa's a nice place, in the part of California that's green.

C.J., that's the fate of most every husband, I suspect.

Sei' sicher, Nicole.

Nope, Nessa. You have to stay put for that.

Apologies, TLP, but if you can't use a base word on Monday when can you?

Woof.

TLP, I think you're covered.

Terry, regards to Bear. Is the laptop dead or just really, really relaxed?

Karen, I'm pleased to report we have reporters on the scene. Or near it.

Rabbit, rabbit, Ariel.

I'm sure, Actonbell. I happened upon Punxatawny once by accident but it was summer and nothing was cute.

Dust do, Quibble.

Yup, sausage day tomorrow, Sauerkraut.

Ellipses, Cooper?

Hobbes, I think you should pay more attention to what's happening in your own home.

Glad I read about the 'Doodad' since it popped up yesterday in one of my books.
Boy, would I have been at loss ;)
