Like thinking of the Good Ole Days -- remembering things the way they weren't.

Allegory A “family Values” television show that has been created to shove values down the general publics throat. Like with all television The characters in an allegory have no personality, but with the true Allegory the flat characters are embodiments of moral fight against a godless society. These unthinking characters are created for a unthinking population and currently the movement is being spearheaded by the PAX television network.

Alle gory:

A term used to describe your hands after, in a fit of rage, you have strangled and subsequently stabbed your male women’s study professor.

"My hands are alle gory and I should wash them before going to my next class."

Thanks to allegory and the genius of George Lucas, George Bush will always be equated to Darth Vadar.

Excellent, Tan Lucy. I didn't notice the name and I like what you did with it. Totem pole indeed!

Tom & Icy, that could be autobiography as well. Al Gore, the Allegory.

mquest, you mean like The Sopranos? I thought every family was like that.

Alice, you are truly a blurry beauty. That's the second person you've murdered in what, two weeks? On behalf of evolution, thank you for your support.

"How-a-a-ar-d, I am your fa-a-ather!"

a symbolic retelling of all the (this) president's lies

Sreekesh, you mean poetry.

Karma, that's safer than Parliament.

a4g, rigor is for the dead.

Jawn Lam, welcome. That describes most video games, digital movies and Gabriel Zolman's site.

Monika, in this country it's traditional to forget our history when it's a year old. You're either with us or against us.

Pia, which animals would you use?

"I cordially dislike allegory in all its manifestations, and always have done since I grew old and wary enough to detect its presence." - J R R Tolkien

Allegory: a device used by parents to teach their children a lesson. After the telling, said offspring will tilt their heads to the side and mutter "huh?"

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't. Nobody (especially me these days) wants to be accused of cruelty to animals.

Dddragon, I think Goa'uld and Tok'ra are hearing allegory. Maybe you told the wrong one.

Pia, funny. Anyone else? What animals would you use in an allegory about the administration?

Funny, Aral. No rabbit story?

Sorry, Masil, can't you fake it like I do?

Rio, are you sure you and Alice aren't the same person?

A pit to trap for unwary students, but a gold mine for Cliff, Monarch, Sparks, et al.

Doug The Una said...

Weirsdo, you've pansified me.

Jamie Dawn said...

When it's done really well, you sit there after you've read the story, and you say, "So that meant that."
Then later, something pops out from the story and you say, "So THAT meant THAT."

Doug: Sorry, the first "for" shouldn't be in there. It's an allegorical definition: allegory pansifies lit survey students trying to analyze it, but they buy explanations in Cliffs', Monarch's, or Sparks' Notes.

Doug The Una said...

Jamie Dawn, it's a gift that keeps on giving.

Weirsdo, Gotcha. I actually hadn't heard of Monarch's or Spark's. Guess I wasn't much of a student.

Obviously, you never went to a institution of hire learning like Aubern!!!!!!!

Doug The Una said...

Clearly, Aubvey. Emory doesn't even have a football team.
