Truce

Truce, n. Friendship.

2005 Update: The exhaustion of wit and weapon.

Note: a4g is hosting an Offend-a-Thon on his site to raise money for Catholic Charities' relief efforts on the Gulf Coast. He and his co-writers will be adding tasteless parodies of the suffering of Katrina's victims in order to help them. More evidence if any's needed that bloggers are a strange tribe. The site has links to donate to Catholic Charities and other relief agencies.

Your definition might be on the money. But in the current conflict it seems that wit has been in arrears for an age. Weapon, on the other hand, may last a long time.

On a more personal note, I am happy that no matter how early I enter the Great Worldwide Restaurant, there's always a fresh plate of Ambrosia waiting for me.

I probably have Willie Bear's bladder to thank for this, so if you see him, let him know he has taken at least One Stride on the Great Fourfold Path to Olancha. And scratch him on the belly, too.

Truce: It takes grace, courage, and character to accept it but even more to initiate it. Often accompanied by phrases like fair enough and let's agree to disagree.

Semisweet1 just outed himself as my old college roommate. Who here thinks he should write a blog? By the way, S, according to plan Willie's Olancha-bound on Saturday.

Sar, graciousness like that is the kind of liberal moonbattery that is destroying this country. Did I use that word correctly, by the way? I know a lot of Hispanic Americans who don't speak Spanish and few African or European Americans speak any African or European languages and I bring that up only to explain why I'm not very confident speaking idiot.

Karma, and before.

My verifier word is "zitculp." Should I even bother?

Sar said...

You know your right, Doug. What this country needs is a good old fashioned kick in the pants. Damn, liberal moonbattery strikes again!

Btw, my word verify is jcluawz. Vampire shark perhaps?

I have been trying to find out what "moon bat" means as it's been used to describe me and the rest of Bring it on! and I have no idea what people mean by that

my verifier word is gfafazdr...its a giraffe with a throat infection

Truce. n., from YOU FIRST

A white flag waving, while the bearer of said flag has the other hand behind his/her back, fingers crossed. Preformed while reloading one's weapons.

See, Sar, you can't help it.

Pia, Moonbat=Liberal where neither word has a definition. I think it's a verifier.

See, AP3, I usually go for abject surrender and pity.

Icy, or the dog and the alpo.

Monika, funny verifier definition. Incidentally your definition of Truce is almost identical to Bierce's for Peace (A period of cheating between two periods of fighting.) Well done.

See, TLP, I thought it was from "You missed"

I'm with TLP on this one.

Funny, Actonbell. A war-stop. I like it. Bet one of those is heavy!

Jamie Dawn, remind me not to have you and TLP over for cards.

Go on, Gabe, you'll love it!

I'm going to check out the offend-a-thon

Truce as noted above is anythng but the storm. I say this because as noted all the good definitions are taken.

Please erase my mistake it is quite embarassing.

On another note, these word verifications are giving me some great ides for the names of my future children.

Doug The Una said...

Masil, tomorrow come by early. I got smart friends.

Rio, in my experience the shake is real and the hand is relative.

Dddragon, if you say so. I think she's sneaky.

Alice, it's taken care of. You could never embarrass yourself here, could you? I'm glad the verifier's useful to you. Prophylactic and fertile all at once.

a4g, you bet buddy. Your team's been turning out a lot of cleverness today. Any idea how much you raised? I put the name of your site in the comment on the CC donation form but I'm not sure that does anything. It felt a little like the off button in The Sirens of Titan.
