With a merry grin I say, good story. Clever definition as well. It reminds me of times when I have been confronted by authority. Without exception I fared better when I kept my mouth shut. Fortunately for you, you didn't speak enough Spanish, Perro.
Another great story. Arresting yourself? LOL, Doug. Loyalty disguised in bravado, accented with humor.
Wow. You have led the most excellent adventure of a life!
YOU are my hero for getting on that bus. Nancy's a hero for dragging her teddy bear to be saved also. Beautiful story, well told.
As usual I was rewarded for both listening and reading. Folks, you should do both. It's worth it.
Thanks, S. It is always best to find trouble where you can't speak the language.
And thank you, Sar.
TLP, Nancy's a hero for thinking of someone else. What passes for heroism with me is having a body that moves faster than the brain it's attached to. Nowadays it would be a tie.
A great story. Heroic = Nancy.
Blogger doesn't like me this morning, my comments aren't showing up. hrmpf. Anyway, I agree with the above comments. I always look forward to the weekend stories.
Yay!
More Peru stories, more more more!!
Any alterior motives for arresting yourself along with Nancy?
a) not to miss any of the fun
b) you wouldn´t know the way without Nancy
c) you were tired from walking and a ride to the police station seemed a good idea
...
Just kidding, we all know you are a gentleman...of sorts ;)
You're our hero! Woof! Almost sounds like you made it up if we didn't know you better. Woof!
Absolutely, Fred. Now she has two kids so double that.
Thanks, Dddragon. I like you even if blogger thinks you're beneath contempt.
OK, Logo, there are still a few good ones left.
You got me, Monika. Nancy had my wallet.
Keep barking, Icy. What kind of sicko would create a fictional version of themselves?
You've sure had some interesting life experiences, Doug!
For some reason, this makes me think of "Romancing the Stone"...
Me gusta el sonido de "Sendero Luminoso"... es muy poetico.
AP3, but for romance and a stone it was just like that.
Si, Miz Bohemia, palabras ultimas son siempre palabras poeticas.
this made my (totally black) hair stand on end. my hero!
iibczfl: English translation of 'besame mucho'
ha ha
Doug is nothing if not a poet.
Sar is such a flirt.
A hero in need is a hero indeed.
again, that was me.
I laughed so much at this one :) And you arrested yourself dear Doug? And btw, you are the hero. So, did you star in the movie :D?
I've thought this over, and YOU are a hero. No arguing.
Alice - Me, a flirt??? Ah well, if the shoe fits. ;)
Seems to me that you both showed some heroism that day. You were the perfect escort & Nancy was a studette.
K, It's a perm, it's a plane...
Haha. Thanks, Alice, I may get some business cards made. Sar's a married woman and I'm certain any kindness is sincere and objective.
Thanks, Marwa. No, I'm no actor. Good thing, too.
OK, TLP. You should see me on a vine.
Alice, my apologies.
JD, I agree about Nancy. I have a few more stories about Nancy which will prove it. Assuming she doesn't sue me, first.
Sar doesn't flirt so much as she lures.

Saturdays are such a great day, we get to hear about all of your adventures. You've been to Peru...sigh. Definitely a life worth envying Doug.
Gabriel, it's a wonder guys like us make it through the temptations of the internet with our dignity intact.
Me? Masil, It's almost 10 PM on Sunday and you still think it's Saturday. I want your life.
I knew it was Sunday when I wrote that....I think...today's Wednesday right?
Haha, Masil. It's always Monday anymore.
