Welcome back, Doug - you've been missed! Oh, and congrats on your White Sox wins. :)

Gosh, I was worried when it turned into Thursday morning and there was no word du jour.
Immigrant-though often forgotten, the way everybody in this country started out

Bwergg, that's probably spam but so nicely written I'll leave it up.

Aw, thanks Sar. I couldn't log on last night or this morning and I'm not too proud to admit I was jonesing a little.

Cute wordplay, Dddragon.

Sorry, TLP, I've been very bad.

Masil, you're back? Would you believe I was late today because you stopped updating and I saw no point in going on?

Uh oh... you've given me another Zeppelin earworm:

"We come from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods
Will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying:
Valhalla, I am coming!
On we sweep with threshing oar,
Our only goal will be the western shore."

I think I can control out now, Alice. Thanks for being a sport.

Aral, well done!

AP3: this is the very song we think here on a Friday´s night out. After a couple of beers we get in touch with our viking roots and we think of immigrants as people who had the clarity of mind to arrive on this island willingly without us using any force.

Thanks, Actonbell. No-one's too smart for you but TLP is kinda brainy, huh? Just sayin'

Monika, I thought you had saxon roots. Maybe sing something from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Immigrant: Someone who tries to belong elsewhere as long as it's not home.

It's Marwa btw Doug. Just a new look :) LOL.

Yeah, Acton Bell, Pentimento means to repent, or more literally I think: "I changed my mind." Kinda, anyway.

In art it is when an artist "repented" of a painting, and then reused the canvas. Just painted right over the orginal painting. Then sometimes, an underlying image shows through, usually when the top layer of paint has become transparent with age.

I never, ever, get tired of instructing my children.

Marwa, I know who the daydreamer is. Wow, of course.

Kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it Planet Moron? I'm stayin' here.

Karma, then how come Willie likes to roll in mine.

*bowing* TLP. There some more room at your knee? I need a lot of room.

At least the Gringos, huh Fred?

Nice, Ariella.

AP3, you coulda asked me. Hmmf.

Shirazo, and they certainly have the longer commute. I heard on the radio yesterday of a Desi rock band called the H-1 Bees. Kind of funny.

Karma, Willie's high on life.

I doubt it, Weirsdo, but that's pretty funny.

P. S. I forgot to say, Happy Birthday, Papi B.

I did get those words confused when I was a kid.
