Penitent
Penitent, adj. Undergoing or awaiting punishment.
2005 Update: In the transitional stage between crimes.
What a smart dog. He is thinking:" If I sit sadly on this couch, the big food-despensing creature will pitty me and once again I will have gotten away with it. How easy it is to control these big cretures. I wonder where I´ll hide the next rabbit. I am tired, better take a nap." And even though we know that they know, both pretend the other doesn´t.

She looks adorable! Crime & her? NO! :o
Are you feeling guilty about something, Mr. Dog???
Nice one. I can't think past it.
Manjusha, its the pretty one's cause all the world's troubles. Ask a rabbit.
Hm? Me?
Thanks, Alice. I hope that's a good thing.
Doggies know how to get our way with mean ole humans. Note who's in the comfortable seat... and probably has the remote!
I wondered why the TV's always on Animal Planet when I come home.
Everywhere I go people are talking about dogs. And I only have an imaginary one.
True, Pia, but I bet Toto doesn't hide rabbits under your blanket.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
So...Today's post is worth 1006 words? I think I left more than that in the comments section of Aral's blog.
But do we know what our pets are REALLY doing when we aren't around? eh?
Penitent, adj. Caught.

The 2005 update was a very good one.. but they all are.
Cute dog picture too.
What a great pic!!! I can just see the anticipation and deliberation in the eyes...
Is it the couch or the grocery bag serving as the proverbial confessional here? OR... is the dog playing priest to YOUR confession, Doug?
This has nothing to do with the dog picture. Just whip me ... please??? :P
Actonbell, she always looks that way during the sentencing portion of the trial.
Dddragon, I don't know what they're really up to when I'm home, half the time.
Gabriel, an elegant twist on Bierce's definition.
Monika, she's right, too.
Thanks, Stormwind! Walela says "That's wolf princess picture to you, Lady"
Tara, a sweet and scandalous girl. Remind you of anyone?
Sar, it goes both ways. I found a head in the grocery bag.
Karma, have you been very bad again?
I can't top yours, Doug. Two of my three dogs (one of whom looks like the one in the picture) fit this description. The other is an unrepentant thief.
Ha, Comfort Addict I have one who's a thief and one who's an engineer, both unrepentant.
