Crossroads
Story #28, in which the Devil seeks his due.
To hear the story, ask Robert Johnson for directions.
@Doug, at first I was disappointed that the new stories are not of your life anymore but I enjoy them a lot now.
@Anton Shevchenko, you have some truly great photos. I love the way you're playing with perspectives and framing (I hope these are the right English terms), and amuse and surprise your viewer.
What's the Devil got against Unitarians, she jauntily inquired ... they've got more social conscience than anybody. I like this version better than Eric Clapton's. Doug, you are so hip. xoxo
Maybe three times, Marwa :P I hope you like the story.
Thanks Aral, yeah a twofer like Francis Albert Sinatra and Antonio Carlos Job.
Thanks, Monika. Goethe is the reason I know a little German. I hope he isn't too upset. Wer reitet so spät durch Nacht und Wind/ Es ist ein Vatter mit seinem kind.
Hahaha, Sar. You're kidding me right? Of course I want fries.
Thanks Ariel, and I'm glad you clicked the link. I found Anton by googling for crossroads images and was mighty impressed with what I found.
Only in cyberspace, Mireille, but thanks.
Karma, you though Weirsdo in the Mubharata? Hey...
TLP, probably at a black sabbath with Daisy. I just hope Pansi's OK.
Der Erlkönig! Very impressed my American friend. Germans have of late attributed homosexuality to that poem: I guess we are coming around ;) But your story reminded me so much of Faust signing his soul to the devil, written in his own blood. I thought that was your inspiration for this story.
Oh well done, well done. I am deeply impressed and had to go back and listen to it again. Doug, you have outdone yourself, that was pure genius... according to the prophecy.
Aww, thanks, Doug. That was an inspired way to sum me up. Inquiry--for the degree seeker, involves much ink and worry. But Pansi has gotten Dr. Minnie Strator to open her files on me and my family, as per your request, so I hope you will appreciate more dirt tomorrow. . . .
Inquiry... a search spurred on by a base factor of curiosity... hence the popular phrase "bohemian minds want to know"! Hmmm... something is a tad off... can't quite put my finger on it.
Inquiry~ Reason behind all us souls gathered at the drinking well of knowledge that is Waking Ambrose.

Now this is too much for me. Going first here twice in a row. WOW! *jump up and down*
Anyway, can't wait for the story :) Take care Doug.
Wow, you already have two comments!
Great story, Doug. I love the whole Robert Johnson-Crossroads-devil story... and this way you get The Devil into the act along with weirsdo!
Bar of Soap is gonna have a fit, Weirsdo is gonna love it and Goethe will turn in his grave!
inquiry- really sucks, especially when your mind´s been made up! It is the death of all self-drawn conclusions.
Well done, hissing Devil Doug. Nice touch with the music and photo. Weirsdo will indeed love it.
This shoe recognizes she's out of her league among such intellectual icons today but wishes everyone a good weekend.
Inquiry: Would you like fries with that?

what the hell ... ?
Hot damn boy! You're ready for Hollywood.
My query is where is that Weirsdo anyway?
Maybe three times, Marwa :P I hope you like the story.

Jobim? She inquired jauntily.
Boy, Monika, people will blame their habits on anything. I understood, but I can't quote Faust.
Mireille, inquire jauntily at AP3's.
That's funny, Actonbell. If I had been born Ukrainian I'd probably still be in kindergarten.
Oh well done,
well done.

*bow* You are becoming a true Master of cyberspace! Wow!
Inquiry, n. A favorite tool for Unitarians, who will talk anything to death, as long as coffee and tea are served.
Is it too late for the fries?
Thanks, Logo. I made a deal with Adam Sandler.
I certainly, will, Weirsdo. Nothing says I can't use it later.
*Bow wow*, Icy.
Sar, another order of fries for our friend Dddragon.
Awesome story, I figured weirsdo was off fiddling on some roof. Nice picture.
Such talent in one little dog.
inquiry...................with so many heretics among my inner circle merely the thought brings shivers to my spinal column. I can't go on.
"Mister"? You mean the Devil is a man?
I never would've guessed that.
Alice, you'll see.
He takes many forms, lobsterman.
So, ummm... will ya come and read a story to my son? Great story teller you are, Doug! ;)
"The Devil went down to Georgia, he was looking for a soul to steal..." Charlie Daniels Band
Looks like he found Weirsdo.
Oooooh, creepy!
Inquiry: Willing to ask for directions.
As always...a great way to start the day...
Thanks, Shayna. Does he bite?
You got it, Jamie Dawn. I didn't realize inquiry was gendered feminine.
Thanks, Spiritdancerq, it's always nice to see you here.
Well... my young pup has only bit me once (left a helluva mark) Majority of the time he just nibbles... :)
Inquiry... a search spurred on by a base factor of curiosity... hence the popular phrase "bohemian minds want to know"! Hmmm... something is a tad off... can't quite put my finger on it.

Nice voice, Doug. Sounds like you've had lots of practice.
nice post :)
Was Weirsdo playing the Ralph Maccio role, or am I thinking of a different pact? Next time, I want the part of Screwtape.
)+(
Miz B, honey, you're better off with the inquirer. Keep coming for the fun, though,
Thanks, Fred. I'm goping for a Burger King contract.
Thanks, Daredevil.
Gabriel that's not exactly what I had in mind for you, but it's purty close.
inquiry... a pragmatist's way of saying "you're wasting your time" to a fundamentalist.
great story Doug. now i wonder if it is easier to evangelize to a unitarian. lol, your fault. j/k.
True, Asiansmiles. Both the theist and atheist kinds. And you may want to bring a lunch and some cough drops.
