Pain
Pain, n. An uncomfortable frame of mind that may have a physical basis in something that is being done to the body, or may be purely mental, caused by the good fortune of another.
Mr. Dog: I think you're freind Ann Rose has been spying on my LIFE!!!!! I am in REAL PANE cuz of the Cave Troll droping his club on my foot!!!!!!!! I am NOT JELLOS of DAISY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant help it if shes fat and greedy!!!! P. S.!!!!! I thot you were going to do some thing about her!!!!!!!! Not that I care one way or the other!!!!!
I don't like today's word. I don't! For everywhere I go today people are in pain: getting mean emails, getting mean lists! What is up with today? Picking on my internet blog crushes. This girl will not have it! Everywhere I go. Everywhere! It pains me!
No. I do not like today's word. Take it off...now. (stamps foot)
Despite my deep respect for PANSI and my sympathy for her during this trying time, I must strenuously object to your and your colleagues' conspiratorial activities. It is my painful duty to inform you that should any attempt be made to sabotage the current Superstar of my show, unfortunate and PAINful consequences may ensue.
Lilacs? Make me sneeze. The drink though. Right on.
Pain: having to go into fired co-worker's hard-drive to find a file and the woman labeled things very creatively. Hell - that's agony! Torture. Once you go into those files, you disappear for hours...hours!
Despite my wish to amuse I find that today this word lends itself only to putting me in mind of friends and loved ones in physical agony or mental anguish. Schedenfraude would be a relief, perhaps I could order some from Amazon. Alright, off to be uncheerful elsewhere, my apologies.
Aching feelings inside you can't explain And all you see is memories lost in vain When tears no more help ease the pain And those you love go away like rain.
Just made these lines up. May not be so good.
On a lighter note...
Pain: That feeling when your boss shows suddenly at your desk, grinning. An evil grin.
I think to be dissapointed by love is the biggest pain you can survive. Someone once said: "Love is a moment of weakness when you allow somebody else to hurt you more than you ever thought possible." Of course I don´t know how it feels like to be ripped apart by a tiger...that could be pretty painful I guess!
Mr. Banana, of course we can compromise. I offer this: Pansi is the star, no-one gets hurt, we stay friends.
The agony, Jenna. I feel it with you.
Sar, the first two I know well. By the way, your comment is the 5000th blog comment I've had. Maybe see if Queen Monika of Blog has a vacancy at Princess or courtesan or something.
Honestly, Miz B, this word came today because I couldn't get in to post all morning.
Harry, poetic, Well done!
Still Life, I'm delighted you're here again. Ramps, a lift, friends, everything you need is right here.
Masil, I should have seen that coming. Cell-phone still quiet, I guess.
Logo, here is fine. We have broad shoulders. Some of the bellies are impressive too.
Well done, Shree! 10 points.
Agreed, Ariel.
Ah, but Marwa, it could also be what your ex-boss feels when you grin.
Wow, TLP. I love the last line. If I could sew I'd put it on a sampler.
Monika, I never thought tigers sounded so bad. I guess I should try one of those sometime.
Sure is Fred. Let's add a new definition: Seeing clever or sympathetic comments come in all day without being able to respond.
my middle name... no wait thats louise which is a pain in itself however i somehow find the hilarity in it as i do in most of my pain a week later or a couple long island ice teas deep.
well, Monika, there IS bigger pain than what love can bring you, having a leg amputation without anaesthetic, being shot on the belly, having the horn of a big animal up to one's ass, having one's nails torn off, having a lung cancer, I do not doubt that anyone would trade these pains for pain of love in one minute. including me.
Ariel, I think I didn´t make myself clear...I was talking about emotional pain, rather than physical one. I should have mentioned this. Any physical pain is more painful in the moment -sometimes even over a very long peroid of time- than emotional pains, which usually don´t have the potential of death as a result. Everybody would take a little heartache over strong physical pain! I hope neither one of your painful example has happened to you and I certainly didn´t mean to belittle physical pain. Believe you me, I lived through quite a bit of pain myself! Might be interested in hearing more about a horn of a big animal up one´s arse...that image kinda stuck!
Monika, this is just my English, which is worse early in the morning than other times of the day. I thought you were disappointed to hear that the worst thing someone thinks of when it's about pain is love, and wanted to let you know that I agree on physical pain being a lot worse, we are aristocrats when have nothing to whine about but heartache. it's late in the afternoon, I can now see what you really said.
I've read a lot about bull-fight, that's where that example came from. it did happen to an unhappy matador or two, and is definintely not the way of dying anyone would wish for themselves.
and I'm sorry for being confusing like that, coffee should precede blog reading. I know the feeling when you stare at the ceiling with your heart broken, expecting to die any moment now.
ariel...Yeah, I have heard about those bullfighting people in Spain and some get so injured that they can not live life to a normal extend. There are some horrid pictures I have seen! Sometimes I get so excited about posting a comment that I just beat those keys, and sometimes-without further thought- a comment has been published. heartache at the moment is on my mind daily and you know how people can be...very self-absorbed. But I thank God, for being physically painless almost every day. *knock wood*

Something that politicians share with us when crying crocodile tears. In this sense, it's actually a sensation of happiness, euphoria or glee.
Example: It really pains me that no one else can make the first comment today.
1. Something of mine someone else says he feels when he wants something from me. as in "I feel you pain."
2. (related to 1) Something someone else is when she wants something from me. as in "She is such a pain."
What we have most in common with others, besides death. xoxo
love

True, Liz. It's caused by taking.
That's funny, Mireille, I was thinking about death and taxes myself.
Ariel, aren't there pills for that?
Pansi, I'm sorry, doll. I'll have a talk with my colleagues and see what's taking so long.

Pain, n. Listening to Frank Sinatra sing "The Girl from Ipanema".
A sharp, uncomfortable, stabbing sensation often in the neck or butt.
Jenna, have a drink. I tried to post some lilacs to make you feel better but blogger isn't allowing pictures at this time.
You want some of this, Banana?
Haha, Aral. That's a very good example. Fly me to the moon...
Jamie Dawn, exactly the kind of prompting that gets someone to be a guest on this site.
Of course, I pride myself on my flexibility and openness to sound business propositions. Are we talking a deal?
Lilacs? Make me sneeze. The drink though. Right on.

LIFE! REALITY!
Why this word today, WHY?!?!?
A mute siren whose warnings are dark symphonies in our ears, provided we concur with her choice of mouthpieces.
pain (n) a pill of a person who should take medication to mellow.
ps. you're right it is accessible, I had never noticed the ramp...
pain-life

Alright, off to be uncheerful elsewhere, my apologies.
either your best friend or your worst enemy.
"a mute siren", that rocks. siren, mute and impossible not to listen when starts singing...
Pain: A very common word for me. Oh yeah...
Aching feelings inside you can't explain
And all you see is memories lost in vain
When tears no more help ease the pain
And those you love go away like rain.

Take care Doug, dear!
Pain,n.,
1.Everything internet today.
2.Leftover 37 cent postage stamps. (I NEED a cent sign key.)
Pain is cheap because supply exceeds demand.
I think to be dissapointed by love is the biggest pain you can survive. Someone once said:

Of course I don´t know how it feels like to be ripped apart by a tiger...that could be pretty painful I guess!
It is a pain in the a** to arrive late here and still try to come up with something clever and new.
Blogger is being a PAIN in the a** today.

It panes me to say it, Mr. Dog, but I'm totaly dissapointed in you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No Kisses!!!!!
The primary engine of progress.
Wor, Rio. So a headache isn't pain?
Actonbell, an acronym! Good work, but I hope Sar doesn't mind.
Hahaha, Alice.
PANSI!!! I Thought I did what you wanted!!!!!

Oh yeah. You got that right Doug.
Hey I have another one.
When blogger loses an entry you spent 45 minutes on to cyber space. Now that's pain.
Ariel, I think I didn´t make myself clear...I was talking about emotional pain, rather than physical one. I should have mentioned this.

Gnat, welcome back! Great definition. Having read your blog, I don't doubt your authority either.
Ariel, you forgot being eaten by small animals and being dragged by a giant tortoise across a huge cheese grater. Not to worry, though, I remembered.
Yup, Marwa, that would be another example. Sorry to hear.
Monika, I'd take heartache over my morning coffee, but I'm weird like that. And I agree with you...
Ariel, we'd like to hear more about the animal horn.
a headache? or a hang over?
Monika, this is just my English, which is worse early in the morning than other times of the day. Rio, your poison, you choose.
Ariel, the coffee's working. We are aristocrats when we have nothing to whine about but heartache I may put that on my desk at work.
Don't knock too hard, Monika.
Hi Doug: pain-generally preceeds growth
