Ahh the ocean. Which sometimes comes with a beach. Heaven.
The shattered water made a misty din. Great waves looked over others coming in, And thought of doing something to the shore That water never did to land before. The clouds were low and hairy in the skies, Like locks blown forward in the gleam of eyes. You could not tell, and yet it looked as if The shore was lucky in being backed by cliff, The cliff in being backed by continent; It looked as if a night of dark intent Was coming, and not only a night, an age. Someone had better be prepared for rage. There would be more than ocean-water broken Before God's last 'Put out the Light' was spoken.
Ocean: Ossie an' me went to the beach to play in the water. Osh an' me came back home a little after dark. Ossie was p**d about that, being bumped by Osh an' all. ..
Ocean: It's great to look at, and fun to frolic in. I don't like the feeling I have after a long day at the beach though. There's always a salty-sandy crust all over my bod which feels yucky. My hair feels yucky too.
Jenn, the sea is wide. Everyone washes up first one day.
Ariel, you got over my head today.
Quilly, if you aren't bragging you should be. If misery didn't bring me joy, I know I'd envy you.
Wow, Logo. I think you just invented eschaton porn.
Icy, I always kind of guessed Moby Dick was actually a little white terrier.
Ariel, it's plagiarism. But, yes, pretty.
Jim, I'm glad you went to the ocean instead of the beach.
JD, I kind of like the post-beach grit which begs the question of why I never go.
Terry, something marinated probably.
Latin? That TLP!
The bigger O, Actonbell. I'm one of those folks that worries if I ever take a day off whether I'll start again. You probably know the type- finishing every NYT crossword puzzle is a common symptom.

What the...first?
Ocean, the free cells of mine.
OCEAN n. view from my living room windows
(Not thzat I'm bragging -- much.)
Now why did I have to get the song "Caribbean Queen" by Billy Ocean into my head? Why?
Ocean: dependent upon whether the glass is half full or empty of salt water, a beautiful unifier or a monstrous divider.

Ocean - water everywhere, but not a drop to drink.
Icy, that's beautiful.

Global marinade... nice one, Doug.

Ocean: The final setting in the story of The Life of Pi
Yes, excellent metaphor Doug in "global marinade" What's for dinner?
Ocean: sine qua non.

i love how the ocean shimmers
and i love how it sounds.
i dont miss the gills.
I do so dislike that Quilly, first she takes my boyfriend, who happens to study the ocean, AND then she takes my ocean.
"You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty."
Ocean.,.,.the kidneys of the planet, by design---garbage dump of man, by ignorance....
Well, you know very well that I learned that little touch of Latin by doing the crossword puzzle.
Just read your comment to Actonbell: hrmpf. Finishing the puzzle is virtuous, not obsessive. ;P (It has hurt my Scrabble game however.)
JJ, imagine the wind instruments you could play if you had gills.
Cooper, what schoolteacher was ever anything but a thief?
Bear, its kind of moving on down the ole' digestive system, isn't it?
TLP, teasing NYT crossword fanatics is a fraternal thing for me.
Hey, feel free to gloss over my comment - I didn't put a lot of thought into it or anything. Well a little thought...
Sorry, G! That was a good comment, too. What an ingrate I am!
G - we kept him up WAY past his bedtime last night.
