Seventh Canto
This week, the reader (click the lonesome cowboy at right) is Sunny Schwartz, a friend of mine for nigh on two decades and a friend of Terry and her bear's for nigh on two months. ¡Muchas gracias, monstruo!

Those high desert and mountains make one long for the smoky morning scent of the campfire and coffee. Sunny, your telling of the tale had us lost in the scene - well-done! Doug - such an intimate bird's eye view into the ribald adventures of the lone cowboy... not from a personal vantage point though I'm sure. *winks*
Greetings...windy city to wind blown sage, enjoyed the reading and content...ah a day in the saddle... worth the sore butt......Peace to You and Yours...Bathing in the thoughts of a long trail ,for its the journey, not the destination :-)
No sound on this laptop, so I had to read it only.
Will had some bad luck, poor feller.
Too bad he didn't come up with idea to propose to Greta when he was still in bed with her.
Alas, his timing about asking her was not good.
This was an enjoyable read, Doug.
I hope you spoil your mom tomorrow.
HEY,just was pass'n thru,this afternoon/evening...oh the memories of a cowboy........forward with the journey...?is a cowboy still a cowboy,when s/he (for whatever reason,lack of planning)has lost his horse?.....i think so,for it is in attitude....Peace to My windy city and sage brush blown Brothers.......Peace ,Love ,Prosperity...BEAR
So as Terry mentioned, I'm sure any resemblance of you and Will are purely coincidental.
The verse is wonderful as delivered by your good friend, Sunny. Nicely done boys.
or "is"...
Tired, allergies, take your pick. Have a good weekend!
Terry, I am innocent of several crimes.
Peace, Brer Bear
Thanks, Actonbell. I'm glad.
JD, I'm in Portland for that purpose.
Anonymous, I suppose a cowboy's a cowboy if he has cynicism to ride.
Pretty coincidental, G. Yeah.
ha! this was very funny,
and you have such a way
of capturing images
with your apt descriptions...
i think if i have another child
i shall call him
Sunny Schwartz,
even if he's a girl....
wonderful story, cowboy.
JJ, that would be a wonderful name for a girl.
...yes, or perhaps,
Sunny Shorts.
I was here yesterday. I listened to the lovely reading and left a complimentary comment to the owner of the wonderful voice this story was written to fit. I also left a comment for the story writer telling him I especially liked this segment of prose. So, where is that comment? In the belly of the blogger whale.
I need to remember to slow down and comfirm it's actual appearance, but lately my life is moving too fast.
I'm glad you had a guy to read this one! He did very well, and it "needed" to be told by a man.
I loved it. But I won't take the bet. I sez he ain't either.
I noticed the resemblance right off.
JJ, that would kind of depend on what you want that child to do in life, aka suffer.
Quilly, I understand. I'll see to it your compliments are received and thank you on both accounts.
TLP, I'm a bad bookie.
Cooper, the resemblance of the man to the horse?
is Moon Unit Zappa suffering?
...i've got five dollars (Canadian)
says that he is...
