The Unionville Chronicles

Ninth Canto

The author reads by the campfire. (Click on the picture, greenhorn)

To read the written verse, point to a muse.

Hey nice to hear your voice reading again! "As the breeze whispered no message but sound." I like that.

I know Minka is busy with her studies, but I can't help but feel that I'm keeping this spot warm for her. Happy weekend!

"...the stars.
That shone blue on the brown of her eyes."

What a dreamy line. Old cowboys oft can be the most romantic of authors.

Yes, a nice story telling voice. I liked the campfire.

Nice job, Doug.
You did it all this week, the writing and the reading.
Pass the marshmallows. I'm making a smore.

Enjoy your holiday weekend.

It seemed to the spirit, at home in the night,
That the time had come to choose sides

So true on so many levels. *See "All Along The Watchtower." xoxo

I think that was read exactly the way the author intended it. Amazing.

Great poem, really.

Greetings---am Thankful for the written and spoken words, the Quantity of words was superb, though with only a Quarter of available words, you would be awesome....so what do you think,is the grass greener on the other side of the fence OR is it greener on the other side of the hill (over the summit-a vision only in your imagination)......May peace fill your heart.................................................

G, it's very touching how every day someone leaves the first comment while Minka's offline.

Me too, Actonbell. All this writing could have been prevented if I'd just taken a week in the mountains.

Terry, cowboys are romantic because they meet so few women.

JD, I brought truffles for your s'more.

Mireille, you and I have been through that and this is not our fate.

TLP, isn't it cool how that happened?

Thanks, JJ. I momentarily considered adding harmonica but the crippled angel of my better nature pulled off a rare victory.

Anonymous, that is a brilliant point.

sometimes our angels
are assigned to
the wrong soul
by mistake...
its okay, nobody's perfect...
that's why we have instincts.
my dishevelled angel told me
people would respond favourably
to your harmonica playing...

Is the grass greener in the mountains?

Good Stuff.

I keep trying to figure out a way to pretend I wrote it.
