Happiness

HAPPINESS, n. An agreeable sensation arising from contemplating the misery of another.

2010 Update: The pervasive pleasure forstered by forgetfulness, miscalculation, intoxication and the mistaking of statistical inevitability for prophesy by a silly optimist. An early sign of lunacy, dementia or paranoia to a gloomy diagnostician.

Oh thank God for your definition. A Doug definition of happiness that actually said something joyful would have probably brought my dementia out full force

True Pia. When Doug acts all happy, I worry. Not that I've ever seen that. But still.

Ingrid Bergman said "Happiness is good health plus a bad memory."

Happiness implies a long stretch of time. But happiness is just a minute here and a minute there, I think.

HAPPINESS, n. The sadistic gleam in the math teacher's eye as Teach contemplates how many of the roomful of new students will take the dare to calculate 'pi' to the last digit.

(Even Star Trek computers fell for that old trick - but only once.)

HAPPINESS, n. - It is what it is and we should posses it always

If you're happy and you know it, become demented

If you're happy and you know it, become demented

If you're happy and you know it, and you really wanna show it, if you're happy and you know it, become demented. ...

Happiness:
runs in a circular motion
Thought is like a little boat upon the sea.
Everybody is a part of everything anyway,
You can have everything if you let yourself be.
Happiness runs, happiness runs.
Happiness runs, happiness runs.

Happiness is, if I were Linus, a warm blanket.

I, however, am not Linus.

Happiness is Friday, May 28th, 12:00 pm MST.

Happiness - Foucault way out on his pendulum. Drunk.

Pia, the risk was slight.

TLP, Bierce wrote a short story in which a young shepherd meets a beautiful apparition and courts her aggressively, but she vanishes. When the shepherd tells the story to an old man, the old man explains that the mysterious woman was happiness and if the young man had been gentler with her, instead of knowing her just a minute, he might have known her for two.

Amoeba, those Star Trek computers

Thom, I'm afraid what it isn't is something we can possess. On the other hand, happiness sometimes possesses us.

Words to live by, S-kraut.

Happiness runs like a Donovan poster in the rain, Cooper, indeed it do.

And a PBR, amigo.

Jenn, may June 1 at 8am be as glad an occasion.

Mule, I only pretend to be literate. Bless your sincerity.

Mi Amigo: It should posses us all the time I believe. Makes life much easier. We are on a constant merry-go-round with emotions. They all posses us at one time or the other :)
