So; I will not concern myself with this word/non-word. Instead I will get ready to have recreation at the Salvation Army Kitchen today. We will feed a hundred plus this Friday noon.

And the bearded lady __________ ?

Dr. Jim doesn't know. He does know where to find her. Just watch for your local circus to come to town and you can find her too.

RECREATION, n. The 21st-century version of "let them eat cake". (Jim's excepted.)

Inspired by a bumper sticker I saw on a car yesterday. "I heart hunting, fishing, swimming, boating, (three or four others), and skiing." What, the depression took your job? In your face, loser!

Ah, Jenn. Sorry, but my general experience of "recreation" is of the 'illegal, immoral, or (ahem) fattening' ilk.

RECREATION, n. Writing the invitation for the accident that has been looking for a place to happen.

Thought I had something witty to add but then realized I need to get the run in before the storm comes. Still, it's fun watching Karen try to be clever.

The simple fact that the pronunciation of recreation begins with "wreck" supports Doug's word beautifully, whether or not it can be found in the dictionary.

We just returned yesterday from almost two weeks of "RECREATION" and boy did I get tired of it.

Good think you didn't post the story yet. I have to catch up.

Jim, this is a lexicon. I make up words for it. It will googleable at some point. Bless your work.

Well curated, Karen.

Jim, the circus never leaves town.

Somewhere, Karen, someone is bowing.

That's funny, Amoeba. Darkly funny.

You know it, Jenn.

Amoeba, I'm pretty sure that was what Jenn meant, too.

Thom, that's good usage.

Sauerkraut, the reading is the best part, isn't it?

Thank you, Quilly. You're my kind of pedant.

Welcome home, blogmama and rest up.
