Not that anyone asked...

...But here are six things weird about me. There are more. Thanks to Minka and Terry for not tagging me, you guys know me well. Or have forgotten that I was ever born. Either way, thanks. I'm not sure if the game below made for the two weeks of gleeful good times I had hoped for, although if it's still being played, play on. The puppet show continues two posts down.

Apostasy, n. Faith without ambition.
Curmudgeonliness, n. The love that dare not eat its prey.
Furry, adj. Overdressed for the beach. Well-suited for the company of wolves.
Insomniac, n. Someone who thinks when they should dream and dreams when they should turn left.
Social Phobia, n. An architectural defect of living rooms, ballrooms and bars diagnosed by the lack of alcoves, closets and coat racks.
Stillness, n. The evidence of depth, nobility or absence.

On other blogs this is a meme. Here it's more like self-love.

No no no, Doug. Get back into your story.

Doug, if you can't stroke yourself on your own blog, where can you?

Minka said...

Oh my, Narcissus! You sure are beautiful!
Isn´t there some tourist attraction calling your name somewhere?

And you tagged yourself? Catching your own tail must be a pasttime joy :)

Anonymous said...

Hmmm, I'm sure Indie, Puppy, or Minka can work the "tagging himself" thing into the story line down there...

Sorry! Wrong blog!! ;)

I and my Netherworld cohorts aspire to Curmudgeonliness, ridiculousness, insanity, abnormality, sarcasm and honesty without cruelty.

Charlene Amsden said...

Doug who?

Not that your absence has been all that different from your presence.

Indeterminacy said...

My toes just turned green.

TLP said...

Well, I never! Stroking yourself on a PG13 blog! Self-love is shocking! SHOCKING!

So, can we now tell the two people who never caught on to the game that they are offically "dumber than dirt?"

sobibwy: crying while our boy is away.

Yes, I was just going to suggest the answer to Puppybrose's question TLP might be in the privacy of his own home! I mean really!

Game? What game? No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!

Logophile said...

I'm so glad doesn't know how to hiatus.
I do wish he'd learn some discretion though.

Hon, that sort of thing is best taken care of in private, not right out here in front of company.

Anonymous said...

I tried to play the game, but since I am not listed in Doug's blogroll, I was only putting out and not receiving equal time. And us girls know that is not right.

Anonymous said...

Doug I thought that you were supposed to teach me about vacations. You know real ones
that don't involve a blog.

Oh horrors, I just read TLP's comment and now in addition to all the horrible stuff
I just posted about me buried under a more can include "dumber than dirt." In defense of
dirt....G is totally right, so is puppyrose

I know that you meant the six weird things about you as being your better characteristics.

TLP said...

So, where in the world is Doug Pascover? I guess I'll have to check the Story Thread to see.

Sophisticated Writer said...

Has anyone seen Doug? Kidding. It's odd when you get personal on your OWN blog (but lovely). You should do it more often ;)

Anonymous said...

TLP I prefer clueless to dumber than dirt. It's just so much easier to type. :)

Anonymous said...

My poo just turned green, and then my toes fell off.

Anonymous said...

Well, I like your definition of insomniac.

And I'm glad no one ate your dingo.

Anonymous said...

oh, nonnononno, I mean, I'm glad your dingo isn't your baby.

Anonymous said...

WHen your baby gets back, I hope it doesn't eat your dingo.

That's it!

Kyahgirl said...

self love, doggie style!

*snicker*

TLP said...

Hahahaha Kyahgirl. Acton is pretty funny too. Hey, this is turning into a funny blog. Who knew?

BTW, one and all, on the "dumber'n dirt" thingie, I was referring to dddragon and AP3, who are two of my daughters. (Both in the Honor Society in high school, etc.,...which just goes to show.)

Alana said...

Interesting list. But I thought you said "wierd" things about you.

Anonymous said...

SquareGirl (not to be confused with Sponge-worthy Girl, which i've done twice now!): the "weird" thing is that Doug is blogging at all. i mean, he's on VACATION, right? call me crazy (actually, don't. enough people have done that today to last a lifetime) but the fact that he's indulging his inner egocentricities from afar speaks volumes. of course, the fact that we're all here to feed them does, too -- but that's another therapy session for another day.

tsduff said...

I found not a single weird thing in your list. Now that's weird.

LeMas. said...

Couldn't stay away huh Doug? Actually...I'm starting to feel the same way.

Alana said...

I agree Puppybrose (and by the way, I find myself confused with that as well, thinking "wait? I don't remembering commenting...oh, that wasn't me, but spongegirl...it can be quite confusing) I mean, some of us go on vacation only to come back and never or rarely post again...of course that doesn't make us normal now that I think of it.

But I guess the consens thus far Doug, is that none of us here thinks that your 6 "wierd" things are wierd, but perhaps we are indeed a jury of your peers.

Miz BoheMia said...

There is STROKING going on here now? Dios mio! Chaos and mayhem when the brotha is gone!!!

Come on people... you think you can get away with saying "stroking" and not have a bohemian pop up???

P-SHAW!

Lila said...

Hi, Doug! I hope you're having a great trip. We miss you!

MizB: Apparently that's not all that would pop up.

Miz BoheMia said...

Ha, ha, ha, haaaa! Brilliant G... but yeah, when the Dawg admits to self love....

Indie, I just dropped by from the story. It was getting a little steamy and a little fresh air seemed like the ticket.

Puppybrose, I prefer to think of it as auto-acknowledgement.

Minka, don't knock it until you've tried it.

Al, I'll talk. Just no more story.

Brian, right place, wrong time maybe.

Cheesemeister, are you advocating humane euphemism?

Quilly, bless you.

Indie, I can dish it out I guess I can take it, huh?

Absolutely, blogmama. But gently, my sisters are pretty occupied these days other than the one on a cruise.

G, all I can say is your contributions to the story below better sweet and innocent.

Logo, privacy is for the fallen. I'm proud of who I am and what I have.

Subtle, Goldennib. I'll take care of you, too, when I get home. Guess you're volunteering for a guest post as well.

Pia, my virtues are weird and my vices common.

TLP, the one who doesn't go to bars, socialize with movie stars or know what a "rub-off rub-on" technique is is in a hotel in Frankfurt. I think I was in Prague when you asked your question, though and that is one amazing city. I've lost track of that other guy.

Sophisticated, some might say that's all I do here.

Jenna, there's little I appreciate in the world more than a clever way of calling yourself ditzy. You have my admiration. However that's spelled.

Al, it's all about you, isn't it?

Thanks, Actonbell. I hope your walrus is ok on your cruise, too.

Kyah, that's funny.

TLP, that was funny, too. Who knew? Not me. You guys are funny without me. Maybe I should stay here and eat Worms.

Squaregirl, I wasn't trying for weird to you. How about unscented, inorganic, omniverous, home-owning, mainline Christian, and average height. Toes curling, yet?

AP3, I miss you, too but I caught BASIP and it was a goodie. Flying home tomorrow. And its been, more or less, spectacular.

Miz B, thou hast said it.

G, you better be talking about one of those kids books with castles in 'em.

Miz B, I meant spiritual love. You know, the ooh-lala! kind.

Doug I have to put my two cents in on Prague. I agree the most amazing city. Spent a lot of time there...mainly because I'm a genetic bohemian. if your still there go to Zlaty Tiger (Golden Tiger) - best beer. Bad service but goood beer, but you may already know about that:)

Unknown said...

Douglas, i'm in another city too, but i don't feel compelled to keep coming here. guess i love myself too much.

does that make the fur on the back of your neck rise?

lebfup: lesbian furry pup

Alana said...

um, no, not even close...in fact you just described several members of my family. unscented, thank goodness...fragrance makes me nautious (sorry for any fragrance wearers that I have offended, I'm just overly sensitive to scents). you are completely failing to prove any wierd qualities to me thus far...well unless you claim to be one of those that still supports our prez.

Anonymous said...

That's it Doug, that's what I'm talking about.

Squaregirl, I also am scentsitive - makes me nauseous.

Sar said...

What's this I see? I missed two posts? Is is it the 14th already? Wait, that dig doesn't work since I'm here before the 14th. Damn.

Anyway, I've always enjoyed your style meme's/around here self-love Doug, they're most entertaining.

As for your earlier game post...Ohhhhhh! Now I get it! You know I had no idea what the game comments were about on my site the other day. My bad, my duh!

Anonymous said...

surely there are at least six more you could come up with.

Sponge Girl said...

I'm just here to confuse squaregirl and puppybrose. Next I'll introduce my friends, Muz Bohemia and gulldancer.

Doug The Una said...

Me either, Quilly. I say compost.

Mistress Anna, a really Bohemie on my site? What are you doing outside Iowa? By the time I read this it was too late, but I'd love to go back. I feel like I have unfinished business there.

Karma, my fur is fine. I hope you're having fun wherever you are.

Squaregirl, as I said. I despair of being weird in your eyes. Your glasses don't even look rose colored.

Thought so, G.

Sar, I think you're probably the one to laugh at, then.

Cooper, there's thousands. You already know about the socks.

Sponge you're welcome. Squaregirl could use some confusion and Puppybrose, I think, is accustomed.

Doug: I feel the same way about Prague.
