2006 Update: The full armor of neurosis.

pia said...

Oh no, no, no. I can't be first

And again your definition is perfect, too perfect

esteem: I'm too neurotic to have any, yet I do.

Cowgirl said...

Oooohh Pia, that is a good one.

The degree of neurosis is highly linked to the amount of armor supplied to each of our troops - Sometimes serving without pay due to some stupid rules made by those in power; irregardless, these esteemed men and women never refuse to serve.

I'll get off my soapbox now

What I wish Blogger had for me.
Why doesn't blogger like me? Do I smell? Am I not good enough?
Maybe I should talk more, or talk less, or maybe I should talk with an accent. Maybe...

Esteem,n. (1) A means of universal self reinforcement, socially elevated of late to the status of entitlement, and culminating in the banishment of merit based recognition from the public domain. (2) The social engineering equivalent of stealth technology for the concealment of the exceptional, more often resulting in the complacency of the average, et al.

Esteem, n. That which makes an $.85 cup of coffee with milk into a $5.50 cappuccino.

Doug said...

Pia, you have mine.

Cowgirl, bow first.

Logo, I'm with you. Blogger and I are having difficulties in our relationship.

Duxfine, doesn't a rising tide sink all boats?

Icy, a dog deserves self esteem when it can pull that off.

Thanks, Masil. You make me feel good about being me.

Karma, strut and the world struts with you. Crow and you crow alone.

a4g, it's all in the vapor.

Esteemed: All puffed up; like a blowfish at heart.

Duxfine has described it so poetically that I have nothing further to add!

Doug said...

Jamie Dawn, or the rice krispies guys.

Very well, Dr. Strator.

Neurotic you, Asian Smiles? I see no evidence for that.

True, Chat Cat.

Happy Friday my esteemed blogger buddies! Anyone for my delicious, perfectly fluffy pancakes?

Jamie Dawn said...

I have a hair appt next Thursday for a cut & foil highlights, both of which are very needed. We are not talking wants here; these are needs.

1. food
2. air
3. shelter
4. hair appts
5. love

After my too long hair gets cut & my tresses have been streaked, my self-esteem will raise significantly.
Silly, but true.
Snap, Crackle, Pop... Rice Krispies!!

I wrote her off for the tenth time today
And practice all the things I would say
But she came over
I lost my nerve
I took her back and made her dessert
Now I know I'm being used
That's okay man cause I like the abuse
I know she's playing with me
That's okay cause I got no self esteem

Doug said...

Happy Friday, Sar.

Well, then, Jamie Dawn, I wish you a bounty of all 5. Water or no?

Shayna, that one sounds familiar.

karma said...

me, Sar, me! i will eat your delicious pancakes anytime, but i will not eat crow

Yes, Doug your update is perfect, what can I say?

Esteem: Having a blog, writing your thoughts and trivial details of your life thinking the world wants to read what you have to say...

Hey, wait a minute...errr...wouldn't that be me?LOL

Doug said...

Hey, Marwa. I want to read what you have to say.
