Day

DAY, n. A period of twenty-four hours, mostly misspent. This period is divided into two parts, the day proper and the night, or day improper — the former devoted to sins of business, the latter consecrated to the other sort. These two kinds of social activity overlap.

2010 Update: A unit of explanation equal to 96 Ennuis.

The three preceding commenters each have three letters in their name.

I heard this quote in some silly movie: "There are lifes in which there are days and nights. And then there are lifes in which there are only days that grow dark." Just liked it.

I suppose I must reluctantly agree with Ambrose (at the twenty-four hours, mostly misspent) Isn't it glorious that we are given a new day every day?

TLP, the two aren't exclusive.

Pia, congratulations.

Rio, that was Omar Kháyyam pretty.

Karen, do you count the tilde?

Elementary, Thom.

I like that too, Ariel.

Karen, you never know which will be the interesting one.

I'm glad you got it, Actonbell. I was afraid this would be one of my private jokes.

Oh boy, Q.

Jim, as long as your boat is fast and your jersey warm, why not?

Thanks, Karen.

Cooper, that was very good.

Karen, there will be nothing left to Google.

Yup, they get long up north and short down south, don't they, Bear?

Yep, Terry. You can't perfect wasting time unless you get a lot of it.
