Accountability

Accountability, n. The mother of caution.
"My accountability, bear in mind,"
Said the Grand Vizier: "Yes, yes,"
Said the Shah: "I do--'tis the only kind
Of ability you possess."

Counting things that don't really matter.

I like to think I'm not a demanding woman. But when it comes to Bush and his accountability, all bets are off.

Accountability: Something Karl Rove insists other people adhrere to as strictly as possible.

Indie, that's your third comment this week! I hope you mean productivity on the job as opposed to blogged wit. That's what you mean, right?

Sar, I suspect holding the President accountable is the secret to a happy marriage.

Well, Pia, there goes my theory.

Accountability

Preparing in advance to the answer the question why.

Damn thing that was me.

Accountability, n., One, two, three, four, ...Bush can count on up to ten or so. That's about as far as his ability to count goes.

Accountability (n) - The ability to do one's taxes. As in, "I called my accountabilities to do my taxes." - GW Bush.

Holy Frejoles! I damn near spit my lunch out on my computer screen when I burst out laughing from TLP & Poobah's comments. Talk about a One-Two Punch! Wow, that was fun.

Alice, you got it. Nowadays accountability means a pre-written excuse. I like the new picture, by the way. Of course, a bad one would have to be of someone else.

TLP, what's worth knowing that comes after 10?

Gee whiz, Poobah. What's scary is I'm not sure that isn't really a quote.

I guess there isn't much point in updating "Rorshach Test."

Sar, that's why bloggers shouldn't have PB & J.

Weirsdo, you are so cynical. That fifth degree pushed you over, didn't it?

Good point, Sreekesh, it's major accomplishment that gets counted as success.

Sure, Icy, especially if its Tom's house.

Who are you kidding, Actonbell? Dddragon helped me put the pedometer in your shoe. Four miles, indeed!

Accountability, n: What Arthur Andersen no longer has.

Oh, SNAP!

I have nothing great to say today, on account of being really sick!

I once heard a phrase in a movie:

´There is no right or wrong, there are just consequences of your actions.´

I quite like that. Of course that involes thinking and fore-thought which some people lack!

Minka said...

Did I mention that I am sick? :) *cough, cough*

There's one way to find out if someone has accountability: Ask him. If he says "yes," you know that you can't hold him accountable, on accounta he's a liar.

You can prove this theory by talking to any lawmaker.

Oh. Forgot to say, "Poor Monika." Get well soon.

Accountability.. the word that conscience lives on and the word that the brain often shuns.

Doug The Una said...

S, of all the forms of accountability that this world offers, the gloating of candymakers has to be one of the cruelest.

Monika, you did and I'm sorry to hear it. Get well soon.

I don't know TLP. I think the state legislature in PA is starting to act a little more accountable. Well done y'all.

Asiansmiles, well done!

Minka said...

TLP, thank you!
Doug, oh I did...must have slipped my mind :)

Actually, Doug, I have a soppy, sentimental side, but I'm too denial-avoidant to show it.

Doug The Una said...

What's the matter, Monika? I hope you're not feeling poorly.

Hahaha, Chloe, er, Weirsdo. I knew it!

Jamie Dawn said...

Accountability isn't very fun.

TLP said...

Hey, did you guys hear that Monika is sick? Poor girl. And Doug is being so...unaccountably unkind about it.

So fun to read the comments, had the germ of a witty comment but was completely distracted by enjoying the far superior offerings here.

True, Jamie Dawn, although I bet it ain't bad for the counter.

What, TLP?!?!?! Monika's sick?!?! I'm trying to butter her up to borrow money.

Ariella, that's why I go first.

Minka said...

Doug, now that you mention it...I do feel some kinda sickness coming along. Hope it is nothing serious :)
I am actually feeling better today, I send all my germs to Fred, who wanted a day off from work!
How about 1000 KR?

Doug The Una said...

Monika, I thought the currency there was the snowflake. Glad to hear you're feeling better.

CA, I especially like your pun because it works under both meanings.
